His darkness drew me in.
A mystery with a past I wanted to solve.
He was cold, like ice, but set me on fire.
A heat I hadn't felt in ages.
But when I saw his face, I burned...
She melted from my voice--shuddered from my touch.
But trembled from the memories
That my face brought back.
She wanted more...
Maybe even him.
I wasn't the hand she counted on.
But I was what she was dealt...
A Wild Ace with no way to win.
A Wild Ace with no way to win.

Seeing my face for the first time had caused this. I was used to women screaming when they looked into my eyes, but it was for an entirely different reason. None of them had ever thrown up or cried or turned her head so that she wouldn't have to look at me until I demanded it from her. But Brea did.
First of all, let me start off by saying – Where the hell has this author been all my life?! How has she managed to fly in under my radar?! How is it that this is the first book I've ever read of hers?! I can tell you RIGHT NOW, it WON'T be my last!! This book was AhMazing. The characters, the pace, the intensity, sensuality and emotions – all freakin amazing. From start to finish these people held me in their grasp, my attention NEVER wavering, and they refused to let me go – I never wanted it to end. Ever. I have to be very careful with how much I say, we get delivered with such an unexpected twist, it completely changes the tone and direction of the story. It was one of those vital pieces of information that you just have to get punched in the face with, like I did, to truly experience the full emotion blow that it is. I never saw it coming, and I wasn't sure where there characters would go from there – and it wasn't even the last of the gutwrenching surprises. I think one of my favorite parts of the entire story was the evolution of Trapper and Brea's relationship. They meet wearing masks and Trapper has to take off before the masks ever come off. He has to leave town for a bit so they exchange numbers. In the beginning, they get to know each other (in many sexy, dirty ways) strictly through texts and phone calls, not even knowing what the others face looks like. It added a level of mystery to the excitement of that steamy first meeting. Not to mention the sexual tension and insane chemistry between the two is ridiculously hott. But later, we come to realize that fate played a major role in their relationship. Had they not met and started off the way they did, I'm not sure where they would have ended up. It scares me to even think about because they are just so perfect for each other, they just had a whole bunch of hurdles to work through first. From the very first page, you just know you're about to get your heart run through a grinder – and you would be right. But besides the angst and tears, there are a ton of laughs, some smokin hott and dirty as hell sexy times, and an abundance of some pretty spectacular secondary characters. Frankie was a freakin riot and this really made me wanna read her story. In the end, if you like your romance dirty, with a whole lotta surprises and packed with emotion – then One Click this bitch RIGHT NOW. It's an incredible journey that I have no problem recommending and one I could read over and over again.
For everything he had gone through, Trapper wasn't weak. He wasn't frail, and he wasn't soft. He was masculine and delicious, strong and powerful. He was sexy as hell. But he had a sensitivity that his hardness wouldn't allow through unless it was absolutely necessary. I imagined he didn't reveal it to many people, and he had to really trust them first. It made me feel honored that he trusted me. And it made me want to fuck him even more.
