Play Harder
Hot For Him #2
by JT Fox

WARNING: This book is 100% hard-riding, dirty-talking alpha times two. Read at your own risk.

Having him is the most dangerous play of all...
Now that Miami star quarterback Jordan Barr has had a hot, wild night with halfback Eric "The Brick" Higgins he can’t get him off his mind. Eric is under his skin, but he needs to learn a lesson—that Jordan calls the shots when it comes to these sorts of red-hot entanglements.
And that lesson will be conducted in bed with every inch of Eric’s ripped, muscular body bared for Jordan’s pleasure.
Jordan is the most intense, commanding lover Eric has ever had. Trouble is, the two of them have an enemy. As rumors of game fixing ratchet up, compromising photos land on their phones, as well as a note to pay up or be exposed. Eric’s ready to walk away, but when the threats intensify, the men must work together to figure out who the hell is gunning for them.
And working together can only lead to one thing…
An even hotter, harder, sexier encounter.
But the more they come together, the more determined their enemies are to tear them apart.

Play Harder is the second installment in a three-part MM romance trilogy. It ends in a cliffhanger.

5 – And It Gets Impossibly Hotter – Stars
~this review MAY CONTAIN minor spoilers~

You don't get what you want when you want it. You don't get to kiss me and walk away. We both have too much to lose to make stupid mistakes. So now you're going to learn what happens when you're thoughtless.”

If the first book grabbed my full attention, this one just sent me over the edge – turned me into an addict. These two couldn't possibly get any hotter. Or more frustrating. Or more surprising. Jordan took a delicious turn into the aggressor. Up until now, Eric has been the pursuer and Jordan has been the one too scared to let go, too nervous about being discovered to really give in. But Eric has now proven to be a runner, and Jordan has had enough. When Jordan turns his bossy on, it will burn everything in sight. So. Damn. Hott. But this is also where these two honestly started to piss me off. Eric loved being dominated by Jordan, but the man is so damn scared to trust again, so terrified of opening his heart to someone else, he does what he does best – pushes Jordan away and runs like a kitten. I got why he was a little gun shy, I really did, but dude – how could you not see that Jordan wasn't the kind of man to hurt you the way you had been in the past? But don't put Jordan on a pedestal just yet – I did and was severely disappointed when he pulled his asshat on. These two broke my heart. I was sad for them and mad at them all at the same time. It was exhausting. But the fun doesn't stop there. Oh no. While dealing with the emotional shit that neither of them know how to handle – they were also being threatened with blackmail and still had the game-fixing scandal hanging over their heads. The photographer from the end of book one came charging into the scene with a vengeance and this could have been a perfect opportunity for them to band together – and they did, sorta – for a little while anyway. But then all the other issues in their lives started weighing down on them too, causing them to lash out at each other rather than sticking together. It really was painful and I wanted to smack the shit outta the both of them. And then we got handed that ending. That goddamn ending. A cliffhanger I expected. We get warned ahead of time and this is only book two of three so I knew it was coming anyway. But nothing like the one we got. I must have re-read that last chapter four times trying to figure out just who the hell we were talking about, trying to see if there were any hints I may have missed, but I couldn't find any. I have absolutely no clue who it was. Which means I will be climbing the damn walls waiting for the final installment. JT Fox has effectively stolen my sanity and is severely testing the limits of my patience. Thankfully the wait isn't that long but honestly, two minutes is too long.

at least we can get together in a safe place, get a handle on this, and figure out how to end it.”
“Yup. And once this is over, we can be out of each other's lives forever.”
Ouch. The words hurt. But whatever. This was what he'd wanted – right? Jordan stood and brushed the sand off his pants. Eric watched him walk away, a knot lodged in his throat. But maybe this was for the best. Tying off this loose end, and saying sayonara. It was a good plan. It was the right plan. So why did the thought of Jordan walking out of his life forever make him feel empty inside?

Play Hard (Book #1)

WARNING: Contains two dirty-talking, hard-f*cking, no-apology-making alpha males. Read at your own risk.
Wanting him is the riskiest play of all...
Miami star quarterback Jordan Barr is the hottest man that halfback Eric "The Brick" Higgins has ever laid eyes on, and he's wanted him in his bed for years.
When a chance encounter puts the two pro football players in the same town, the same TV studio, and the same locked room, the sparks don't just fly, they burn. The chemistry between them is intense, immediate, and explosive and Eric isn't about to miss his chance to have Jordan off the field. He'll have Jordan naked in his bed--rumors of game fixing haunting both of their teams be damned.
Eric is one extraordinarily stunning man, and Jordan would love nothing more than to show Eric what it's like to be taken by someone who knows exactly what he wants, in the bedroom and out. But Jordan has bills to pay and far too many responsibilities to throw caution to the wind.
He has to resist. But it's getting hard....
Really, really hard.

Play Hard is the first installment in a three-part MM romance trilogy
