Moving to Melbourne for university, Josie Alexander knew the transition would be hard. She didn’t realise just how difficult it’d be until things turn ugly. Damaged by a past that leaves her struggling with physical contact, her brave move to start afresh, soon turns into a nightmare.
Afraid and vulnerable, Josie’s fragile independence threatens to unravel around her. That is until the two men who refuse to leave her thoughts show up in Melbourne.
Caden Adams, “Pick” to his biker brethren, has had a hard life. His only light is Josie, who he loses when she leaves Ballarat for Melbourne. Dealing with day to day life without his heart is hard, especially with the darkness threatening to consume him. When MC President, Talon, informs him that Josie’s in trouble, he’s determined to make sure he’s there to protect her. Only, he won’t be doing it alone.
Eli “Billy the Kid” Walker has never experienced love, not even from those who should have cared the most. Only Josie and Caden have ever come close to infiltrating his hardened heart. With Josie gone, he pushes Caden away, unwilling to take a risk, even if it’s something he wants.
When given with the opportunity to prove to each other how they really feel, will they all be able to have the courage to fight for what their hearts desire? Above all else, will they survive the fallout when their secret’s out?
“Babe,” I started, her eyes went to me. “Are you wet?”
“Oh,” she gasped. Our girl, so sweet, so shy and nervous. “Um…yes. Shouldn’t I be?” she asked with worry lacing her voice.
Pick stood first and walked to her. His hands cupped her face before he brought her face up and he touched his lips with hers. “Some women would get off on seeing that. We weren’t sure if you would. But we’re glad you did.”
“You are?” she asked on a whisper.
“Yeah, sweetheart,” I said, steppin’ up to them.

they made me smile. They made me feel.
Shit. I couldn't think of them because none of what I wanted, what kept the bad dreams at bay, would happen again.
She was gone.
And he didn't want anything to do with me.
Josie Alexander left the safety and comfort of her family behind to attend university in Melbourne. She knew it wouldn't be easy, with her brutally damaging past and her inability to maintain any kind of physical contact with strangers, but she needed to prove to herself that she could make it in the big, bad world all on her own. All to soon her first journey into complete independence turns into a nightmare when Cameron Peterson comes into the picture. As her life begins to fall apart around her, help from back home comes, in the form of two badass bikers – who happen to be the same two men she left behind, and the ones who hold her heart in their hands.
Caden 'Pick' Adams and Eli 'Billy the Kid' Walker are no strangers to damaged pasts as they both battle demons of their own. Josie was their light, and with her they found a love they only ever dreamed of – but she took it with her when she left them behind. With her gone, they become strangers who avoid each other as much as possible – which isn't easy considering they are both members of Hawks MC. But when the MC Prez catches wind of Josie in trouble at school, he sends the only two men she has ever completely trusted out to help her in any way that they can. They must find a way to push their differences aside so they can be there for the woman they love, but being around Josie brings all of their feelings rushing back. Josie cannot, and will not, choose between the two of them, Caden and Eli are confused as to how deep, and different, their feelings run – can they all find a solution so everyone is happy? As unconventional as their situation is, are they prepared for the fallout from the MC when their secret is out? Is it worth it and in the end, will it even matter?
Lettin' our past go was what I had to do. Not thinking of Billy and Josie as my salvation was what I needed to focus on in order to fix Josie's problems and work as a team.
Then after, I could go back to being the sad sack of misery, waiting for my happily ever after like my brothers had found.
Instead, I had to face the fact it was never for me and it never would be.
This was the first book I read from Lila Rose, and when I started it I did it with the knowledge that it was book one in a series – what I did NOT know was that it was a spin-off from another series and it kinda left me at a disadvantage. The story itself seemed to stand on it's own, but it didn't take me long to realize that most of the characters (and their back stories) were already well established. I was still able to keep up, and never suffered any real confusion, but I did feel as though I had missed a few chapters so to speak. I'm not saying you should skip this book if you haven't read the previous series (Hawks MC), because this book is definitely well worth the read, but I do believe the experience would have been a little different if I wasn't jumping into this world blindly well beyond the starting line. All this really means is, I now have a handful of books I have just added to my ever-expanding TBR pile because seriously – if this book was anything to go by, I have been missing out! These people were a wicked good time! The fact that this was a Triad romance (which is my addictive indulgence) was just the super-sexy frosting on top of the already fab looking cake loaded with bikers. With that said, I have to admit, I wasn't entirely in love with the way the relationship progressed.... at first. In the beginning, it just seemed like Caden dominated the romance aspect – stealing firsts left and right (kisses, orgasms...), and most of the hot and heavy was just happening with him. It just came across as less of a threesome, or hell – even two guys sharing the love of a woman, and more of a relationship between him and Josie with Eli being a third-wheel. It honestly irritated the hell outta me and kinda pissed me off because I freakin LOVED Eli, and it took away some of my warm and fuzzies for Caden. However, this does eventually get rectified in a pretty spectacular way and in the end the three of them just worked, I just would have liked to have seen the foundation laid a little more evenly between the two of them. Still, we do get some pretty smokin hot sex and that always helps puts me in my happy place. It didn't hurt that you could clearly feel the love these three had for each other. They had each others backs in all aspects, and they really brought out the best in one another. Eli finally got the love he always craved, Caden was accepted for who he was – warts and all, and just being around them made Josie stronger than she ever thought possible. Watching her morph from the scared shell of a girl her past made her into, to the feisty vixen who wasn't afraid to stand up for what she wanted and was bent on protecting her men as much as they were protecting her, was a thing of beauty. As much as I LOVED and CRAVED the steam these three brought to the table, this book was so much more than sex. It was about clawing your way out of the darkness, dealing with your demons, all while being stalked by danger. And if that isn't enough, we get SLAMMED with heartache and an abundance of tears for the last handful of chapters – more than once. Every time I thought it couldn't get any worse – it did, ultimately leaving me with my heart on the floor before fixing me back up again. This didn't end with a cliffhanger exactly, but there was definitely some story lines left open for the future. I would love to see more from Simone, and I'm in desperate need of Nary's story – that girl needs a break. While I may not have been with these people from the beginning (something I plan of fixing damn soon), I did fall in love with them all (some more than others) and am very much looking forward to spending a whole lot more time with them in the future.
“Josie girl, you needed your time away. If we hadn't known it, we wouldn't have let you leave. Even though you had some trouble... I'm still glad you went because you wouldn't have opened your heart for the two men beside you. And they wouldn't have pulled their thumbs out of their arses about you either.”
I was born in Brisbane, Australia. My step-dad was in the Army, which caused us to move around a lot. We finally settled in country Victoria, Australia. I am the youngest of four children and I can say that I was spoilt a bit. I drove my mum crazy when I refused to eat meat at a young age. Now I live with my husband and two children, and I find myself regretting all the troubles I put my parents through because my monsters are just as picky as I was.
I started writing in 2013 and self-published the first of the Hawks MC Club series Holding Out. The next to follow was something different, I wrote Senseless Attraction, a YA novel. Soon I was back to the Hawks series with number two Climbing Out. I have more to write in the series, but there will be also be more novels in the humorous erotica genre, like Left to Chance, which is out now.
