Blog Tour Review, Excerpt & Giveaway ~ Perfect Imperfections by Cardeno C.

PERFECT IMPERFECTIONS BY CARDENO C

Hollywood royalty Jeremy Jameson has lived a sheltered life with music as his sole focus and only friend. Before embarking on yet another international concert tour, he wanders into a bar in what he considers the middle of nowhere and meets a man who wins him over with his friendly smile and easy-going nature. Accountant slash bartender slash adventure-seeker Reg Moore has fun talking and drinking with The Jeremy Jameson and can’t say no when the supposedly straight rock star makes him a once in a lifetime offer: keep him company on his tour by playing the part of his boyfriend.
Listening to music, traveling the world, and jumping off cliffs is fun. Falling in love is even better. But to stay with Jeremy after the stage lights dim, Reg will need to help him realize there’s nothing pretend about their relationship.

After a mutual laughing fit about yet another of Reg’s college tales, Reg put an end to Jeremy’s joy by saying, “Hey, Jeremy, man, I don’t want to rush you out of here, but we usually close at midnight during the week, and it’s almost one.”
Oh.” Suddenly feeling sober and tense again, Jeremy rubbed his hand over his nose and reached for his leather jacket, which he’d tossed over the empty barstool next to him hours earlier. “Sure. Yeah. Sorry about that.” He pulled a handful of bills out of his wallet and threw them on the bar, not bothering to count them. “Keep the change.”
Keys in hand, Jeremy climbed off his stool, planning to leave the bar. He was surprised when Reg darted his upper body forward and snagged his keys.
Hold on, man. It’s late and you’re drunk. Is there someone who can come pick you up?”
Jeremy snorted. “No. I’m in, uh….” He tried to remember the name of the nothing little town. “Whatever Park.” He rolled his eyes. “Why would I know anybody here?”
Wow. I’ve had people turn into violent shitheads when I cut them off, but snobby diva is new.” Reg flung his everpresent towel into the bar sink and locked up the register. “I was going to offer you my couch for the night, ’cause there aren’t any motels in walking distance, and I have better beer than we serve here, but you can go ahead and sleep it off in your car, superstar. I’ll bring you your keys in the morning.”
Oh.” Hearing that Reg hadn’t been throwing him out but had, instead, been trying to change locations, vanquished Jeremy’s resurfacing tension. With that relief came the realization that he had acted like all the stuck-up assholes he couldn’t stand. “Crap.” Falling into a nervous childhood habit he hadn’t been fully able to shake, Jeremy tugged the collar of his salmon-colored T-shirt into his mouth and chewed on it. “I didn’t mean to, uh…” He rubbed his palm over his eyes. “I’m sorry that I…” A thought slammed into him, making him flinch and then gape at Reg. “You called me superstar.”
I also called you a snobby diva.” Reg arched his eyebrows. “Are you ready to earn a spot on my couch and a bottle of Kilt Lifter by playing nice?”

5 – I'm going to blow your mind, Superstar – Stars
~this review may contain minor spoilers~

I'm sick of going on the road alone and having to take whatever girl my manager sends over to premiers and shit. It's perfect.”
“Wait. What are you saying?”
“I'm saying, ehm, Reggie Moore, will you be my pretend boyfriend for the next seven months?”

When The Jeremy Jameson wandered into the hole-in-the-wall bar in small town nowhere before embarking on yet another exhausting and lonely tour, he had no idea he was about to meet the man who would change everything. In the following hours he spends drinking and talking with bartender/accountant/adventure seeker Reg Moore, he feels more of a connection than he ever has in his life. For the first time he's able to just be himself without simply being used for his fame or money, it's a feeling he's not ready to let go and one that sparks one hell of an idea. He invites Reg on tour with him: to be his pretend boyfriend, keep him company and keep the gold-digging starlets at bay and see the world. Reg jumps at the chance of a lifetime, but the more time he spends with the superstar the harder he falls for the seemingly straight man. Can he convince Jeremy that maybe their relationship isn't so pretend after all, or will JJ walk away once the tour is over?

I want to know if you think there's a chance for something between us; something that isn't pretend; something that'll last much longer than this concert tour. I want to know if I can finally make love to you and show you that the sex is just as good as the cuddling afterward.”

This is now the third book I have read by this fab author and with each book I fall harder for her writing and her amazing characters. Before I ventured into this book, 'Strange Bedfellows' was by far my favorite of her's but I'm pretty sure this one took it's place. In fact, I think it's safe to say this has become one of my top M/M reads – period, and that has everything to do with the characters. Reg was all badass tattooed sexy. Pure alpha but with a heart of gold, caring, supportive, protective, funny, patient and hott as hell. Jeremy took me by surprise. He wasn't the typical rockstar – he was kinda camera shy, socially awkward, temperamental, a little needy – but it all stemmed from his upbringing and the life he has led. He was who he was and I loved every bit of it. His tantrums were friggin hilarious, his constant need for affection was pretty damn sweet and a little sad considering why he was that way. These two were just prefect for each other, even if it took Jeremy a little while to realize exactly what he was feeling. The wait should have frustrated the hell outta me, but it didn't – it was necessary and I think rushing things would have just scared JJ off. Besides, watching him slowly realize whats in front of him and learn to appreciate what has been missing from his life all this time was sweet. There was no way you couldn't feel the connection forming between the two. There really isn't much more I can say. It was a fab journey that had me hooked from start to finish, and one I can see myself reading over and over again. I would also strongly recommend this, and pretty much anything else from this author, to ANY and ALL M/M romance readers – her characters will win you over and stay with you for a long time.

It means I'm playing intermediary between him and anything I think stresses him out from here on out. You go ahead and tell everyone they're about to meet the new version of a rock-star wife if it makes you feel better. I don't give a shit. my only priority is JJ.”
In that moment, Jeremy realized what it felt like to have someone care about him.
