She's all yours.”
The finality of the words shivered through me as I caught the smile of satisfaction on Mr. Brighton's face.
Excellent. We will do great things together.”

Allison Rand was a barista struggling to pay the bills left behind by her cheating ex when one of her customers takes a chance on her. Her gets her a job in the IT dept. at the Ad agency he works at which not only pays more, but is an opportunity she could never pass up. She is determined to fit into her new job environment and show everyone at Spotlight what she is made of. But a complication arises soon after she starts, one she never saw coming and one she doesn't know how to deal with....

Cooper Brighton is Spotlights biggest client and he has just named Allison his new ad rep. She has no idea what she is doing, this is not the job she was hired for, but there is no getting out of it – Cooper Brighton is a rich and powerful man and always gets what he wants, and what he wants is Allison – in more ways than she could possibly fathom...

Sure, he was hot, but he was also arrogant, controlling, overbearing, unreasonable, spoiled, and just plain rude. And those are just the traits I had picked up on within the first few minutes of meeting him. I could only imagine what treasures awaited now that I was to be his personal designer for the rest of my stint at Spotlight. How had that even happened?

First, let me start off by saying that this book was a lot shorter than I was expecting, it was more a novella length. That is not really a problem, just wanted to let you know. There were things I loved about this story, and things that drove me bat-shit crazy. Doesn't change the fact that I was hooked from the first page. We have our gun-shy heroine who ventures outside the cookie cutter mold (LOVED THAT) being pursued by the billionaire playboy bachelor who seemingly tends to lean more towards the barbie types. He is a complete mystery, made more so by the fact that we are NEVER in his head (more on that later). The chemistry between the two is off-the-charts hott, and the little bit of steam we get was pretty smokin, if not short lived. Here's where the crazy comes in. If you didn't catch on by my rating, their personalities ran so hott and cold it made me dizzy – Allison more so than Cooper. I found it a little funny, or aggravatingly frustrating, that a girl who lives so far outside the box and has spent her life being judged for her appearance was so quick to judge Cooper and his lifestyle. She made assumptions about who he was, and what he did, based off the fact that he was loaded and often the subject of water cooler gossip. On the other hand – Cooper would throw out this arrogant 'your beneath me' vibe one minute, but get pissed when she called him on it. She may have jumped the gun with her mouth on more than a few occasions, but other times he more than earned her sass. But when they got within five feet of each other their attraction sizzled, even when Allie tried to vehemently fight it. You see where this would drive a girl crazy?! It's not a secret that I prefer duel POV's and this just proved why. I had such a hard time getting a read on Cooper (which honestly was probably the point this time) but it also makes it a lot harder for me to connect to him as a romantic interest. I just don't get where he's coming from. Not that Allison was always very lovable, but at least I understood her reasoning... mostly. And then we have that ending – I admit it, I screamed just a little. Okay, A LOT. But hey, Ms. Winters definitely succeeded in stealing my sanity and capturing my attention with this exhausting journey. I don't know weather to kiss her or hunt her down with a pitchfork at this point so props on making me crazy. One thing is for sure, I will be hanging on by my fingernails waiting for the next installment. I'm more than a little anxious to see where these two take me next.

Do you ever let your guard down and turn off the attack mode thing you have going on? You're too beautiful to be this jaded.”
