Salvation will be earned, secrets will be unveiled. Welcome to Chastity Falls.

A million thoughts flooded my mind, unsteadying me, and I flopped back onto the bed. The game. The gunfire. Jackson crouched on the ground. Dreaming of Jackson declaring his love for me. Jackson standing outside my window a year ago.
He knocked again and I hauled myself up, running a hand through my bed hair. I avoided looking at him as I pulled up the blind and unlocked the latch before retreating to my bed.
Jackson climbed through the gap, and when his eyes found mine, a painful ache zipped through my heart.
Thank God you’re okay. I’ve been going out of my mind, but Coach ordered us straight back to the locker rooms, then the police wanted statements, and Principal Kellar came by. Then Uncle Marcus arrived and-”
Stop.” My voice was steady, unwavering as I watched Jackson’s eyes widen.
It was unusual to see Jackson like this—so unguarded. And my chest ached even more with the realization that this was a glimpse of my Jackson.
What are you doing here, Jackson?”
His eyes narrowed, and he closed the distance between us. My body instinctively pressed into the headboard, but I ignored the rapid beating of my heart.
I had to know that you were okay.” He remained at the foot of the bed, staring at me.
You could have texted.”
He sighed, raking a hand through his damp hair, and I wondered if it was raining out. “I had to see you.”
Why?”
The room filled with our silence and we stared each other. We were on the precipice of something. I could feel it.
Jackson inched closer until his legs touched the edge of the bed. “Because I had to know that you were okay, that nothing had happened to you.”
I closed my eyes, inhaling a deep breath. When I opened them again, I looked directly at him. “Why?”
His eyes narrowed as if he was trying to figure me out. “You know why, Ana.”
Say it.”
Because I love you. There, I fucking said it. Is that enough for you? Can we stop playing these games now?”
GAMES? You think I’m playing a game? Me?” I yelled, tears of frustration brimming in my eyes. "I'm not the one cuddling up to beautiful girls, playing happy family with him," I spat out.

5+ Secrets, Lies, Deception & Danger -Stars
~this review may contain minor spoilers~

I spent the summer trying to forget all about Jackson Pierce and the Donohues, but how did you forget the one person who brought you back to life? The one person who gave you reason again? My mind might have shut him out since that night, but my heart refused to forget.

Savanah Parry came to Chastity Falls Academy hoping for a fresh start, running from a past she desperately wants to survive and just needing to blend into the background. She never anticipated Jackson Pierce, the danger knowing him would bring or the storm loving him would throw her in. She never expected anyone would be able to break through the walls surrounding her heart, but Jackson barreled right past them making her feel alive again.... and then he walked away from her, choosing the Donohue's over her. Four months later and she's back at CFA for a new semester barely hanging on and wondering how she will survive facing Jackson, The Fallen, and the Donohue's again after everything that's happened. Determined to dig up secrets the family that runs the town is hiding, she has no idea of what's coming her way.
Jackson walked away from Ana in an attempt to protect her from the crazy that surrounds his life but as the war with Reibeckitt escalates it becomes clear that he may be too late. Now he has to decide how far he will go to keep her safe and at what cost.

Ana was my Achilles' heel. Last year proved that. And while I would do whatever it took to keep her safe-even if it meant walking into the lion's den-it fucking terrified me that I might have to.

I'm gonna keep this as brief as possible to avoid spoilers-there is very little I can say without giving too much away.
First off-this is NOT a standalone. It is very important that you read book one 'Loyalty and Lies' first for several reasons. 1) you WILL be lost if you don't - so much happens in book one that carries over into this one that there will just be no getting over that fact. 2) all the characters, both good and bad, and their relationships with each other, are already well established by the time we get to this book. and 3) Book one was just that awesome so why the hell not?!
This series is proving to be a modern-day Shakespearean tragedy... meets The Godfather. Secrets & lies are hidden in every page, danger lurks around every corner, angst & drama are everyday life and there is never a dull moment. All the old characters are back as dark and devious as ever and some even took me by surprise. It was no secret that I had a whole lot of anger and contempt where Braiden and Briony, as well as most of The Fallen and hell, even Jackson were concerned. Bullies to the extreme, arrogant with ridiculously large god complexes. They ruled CFA and Braiden was king, there wasn't a student there that didn't know the Donohue name or understand what it meant. None of that has changed, in fact, their presence is stronger than ever-however, there were a few that took me by surprise. One Fallen in particular, and lucky number 13 finally won me over-my opinion of him has completely changed for the better... eventually. Ana is as much of a hott mess as ever, but all things considered, that is to be expected. That girl has been through some serious shit in her life but she is stronger than she thinks and proves that in this book. I even fell a little in love with Paul, he was there for Ana when she really needed it, awkward and sweet but an amazing support system. And lets not forget Ana's best friend Elena-that girl cracks me up with her Spanish rants and take no prisoners attitude, she was just what Ana needed in her life. From start to finish this book held me in it's grip, always moving, ever-changing, dark and scary, unpredictable and surprising. You never knew what was coming but you always felt the impending threat in the air. And don't even get me started on the last few chapters-I never saw that coming. We are once again left hanging off the edge of our sanity-not really a cliffhanger per say, but it is clear that the path ahead will be rockier than ever and I CANNOT WAIT to see where we go from here. LA Cotton stole all my attention and most of my sanity with the first book in this series and still has a tight hold of it after this one. This woman will forever hold a spot on my One-Click-Addiction List and I am more than ready to see where she takes us next.

I'll watch out for her. But you need to make a choice, man, once and for all. Them or Ana. Because that girl up there, is falling. Fast. And I'm not sure anyone will be able to save her when she does.”

5- Emotionally Draining, Slightly Pissed Off -Stars
~this review may contain minor spoilers~

Chastity Falls Academy looked like the kind of place that housed secrets... Perfect for a girl running from her own.

Savanna 'Ana' Parry suffered a tragedy no one should have to face and it's left her a broken, emotionally damaged young woman running from her past. That is how she ended up at Chastity Falls. It was as far from home as she could get and she figured the small, quiet town would be the ideal escape-easy enough to get lost in the background. It doesn't take long to realize that this small town is harboring some dark and heavy secrets. She tries to stay out of it, wanting desperately to hide away behind her safe walls where no one knows about her past, and she sort of manages it... until she meets him.

It'd be better for you...for us, if you stay away from me, Ana. But I don't want you to. I'm too selfish to walk away.”
“But-”
No questions. That's the deal. We spend time together, get to know each other, but you can't ask any of the questions that I know you have swimming around in that pretty little head of yours.”
“Okay, but-”
“No questions. That's just the way it has to be for now.”

Jackson Pierce is the first man to make her feel since the day she lost everything and she's not so sure she likes it, or what to do about it. But she does become addicted to being around him, however, just like the small town of Chastity Falls-Jackson is not what he appears. He is hiding some pretty dark secrets of his own, ones that put Ana in danger, but she just can't stay away-and neither can he it seems. She is drawn to the man suffering his own losses, they have a connection neither can explain or walk away from, but unfortunately, someone else may make the decision for them.

And just like that, my happy little bubble burst around me.
Because behind closed doors, everything with Jackson was perfect.
But out in the real world, it was just a shit storm waiting to happen.

That was.... fucking painful. This is what book hangovers are made of ladies. I am an emotional hott-mess as I write this and yet... I loved every damn minute of it. I guess deep down I am a masochist at heart-at least where my reading preferences are concerned. I love it when a book forces me to feel, pulling me in different directions from one page to the next and man did this story accomplish that! This was not an easy, flowers and fluff read, so if that's what you're looking for- Turn Back NOW. But if you like your stories dipped in angst and full of emotion and drama, than Read On just proceed with caution. You aren't gonna get a story loaded with lovable characters, though there are a few most of them will turn your stomach. Our leads are damaged and flawed, which makes you desperately wish they could find some happiness-but more often than not, they will leave you pulling your hair out. Ana was waaaayy too accepting of being kept in the dark (and I'm praying she lashes out at Jackson, Braiden, & Briony at some point in the next book. She freakin NEEDS IT or she will forever be a damn doormat) and Jackson needs to pull his head outta his ass and figure a way out of his situation. There are deceptions and secrets hiding in every single page, danger lurking around every corner, loyalty will be tested, love will be found and pushed to it's limits, and you will be glued to the book from start to finish-it just does not slow down, something is always happening and dread of what's to come is ever present. And don't expect any resolution. Oh no. even after everything that happens we are delivered an ending that pissed me the fuck off. Hell- I'm STILL pissed, left hanging and screaming WHAT-WHY?! There are plenty of characters to blame for that ending, but one in particular really has me questioning his goddamn loyalties and lack of a fucking backbone where is decision making skills come into play. Damn, see-I'm can't stop flying off the handle. All I can hope is that I'm not forced to stay in this limbo for too long. This does read very much like it precariously borders that YA/NA line, though there are a few sexy scenes-they are pretty dialed back, even if they are still packed with intensity. This book was told entirely from Ana's POV and right now I'm desperate to get in Jackson's head-even if only for a little while, so I'm hoping I can have some of that in the next book. Now I'm just wondering WHEN THAT WILL BE OUT?! Well Ms. Cotton, you have slammed your way onto my One-Click-Addiction List one blush, scream, and tear at a time, left me with my heart in my stomach and have stolen my sanity-when can I have it back?!

Jackson was healing me, but part of me worried that he could also break me-for good. The secrets, the lies, his loyalty to Braiden and the Donohues-where would it all end? But it was too late, I needed him now.
Walking away wasn't an option.
