Archer "Dare" Andrews has a love of two things, classic cars and his best friend, Atlanta.
He has always been on the sidelines of both until a beautiful blonde woman proposes an opportunity of a lifetime.
Atlanta Reed is living a musician lifestyle from playing on Music Row, to touring the country. This small town girl lives a big city life, except when she in her apartment listening to old records.
Tragedy strikes and lands Atlanta in a coma. With only a single flight of stairs between them. Will they find their way to each other?
Once we are inside Atlanta lays her keys in the glass fish bowl on the small white antique table that stands by the front door. The smell of the “Moodstar, Dance with Clouds” incense that she burns before every show fills my lungs as I take in a well-hidden breath to calm my nerves. An energizing blend of mandarin oranges mixed with the essential oil Ylang Ylang immediately over takes my body and I secure the door silently behind me. I don’t wait for her to speak but instead I rush over to her, glide both my hands on either side of her face, peer intimately in her eyes and kiss her. The passion is too strong and I couldn’t wait for a discussion on what we should do next. I have waited much too long for us to be in this place. I watched her date other men, love them and leave them and now it is my turn to acquire everything. Her. She is everything, the heartbeat that keeps me going, the spell that has been cast over me. I won’t, I can’t wait any longer to taste her lips. Her hands grasp at the worn-out blue flannel shirt that clings to my back just as her mouth connects mine in the kiss. She tastes better than I have dreamt about all these years and her wet lips are soft and plump, ravishing mine with so much desire. I don’t know what we waited for all these years, wasting time playing the doting best friends when we could have been truly together. Heck we might have been married by now if we both weren’t so stubborn.
I pull away gradually from our kiss but I leave my hands on her velvety soft face. “I've been waiting my whole life to do that and now that it's transpired twice, I don't want to stop, but I need to know what is taking place in your head. When did this happen for you?” I slide my hands from her face, down her bare arms and lightly stroke her hands in mine.
