Blog Tour Review ~ undeniable (unexpected #3) by Amy Marie

Unexpected Series #3
by Amy Marie
Genre: Adult Contemporary Romance

Three months to fall in love.

Three sentences to destroy it all.

Seven years ago, free-spirited Hadley’s heart was shattered when her secret high school love, Ryder Blake, betrayed her with just a few short words. Now, in her twenties and committed to Braden, her boyfriend of two years, she is unknowingly still picking up the pieces, and beginning to realize her life is far from the one she always dreamed of having.

When sexy and all grown up Ryder walks back into her life, memories of their summer spent together causes her to want the old Hadley back. The Hadley that took risks and made her own rules, the Hadley that only Ryder Blake has ever dared to bring out.

Ryder has had his fair share of women since high school, but none have compared to the girl who stole his heart and disappeared with it. When his life starts to fall into place Hadley’s sudden reappearance and disgust towards him fuels his drive to win her back and never let her run again…even if she has a boyfriend, and even if he has to handcuff her to his bed.

He will pursue.

She’ll push him away.

Sparks will fly.

Tempers will flare.

An undeniable chemistry will light it all on fire.

Do you love him?”
She takes another shot of tequila but still answers. “I thought I did, but is love supposed to be this hard?” she asks before her attention is directed to the door where a few others have come in. She looks down at her phone and frowns. I want to reach over and kiss her sadness away.
Well,” I start to tell her. “I’ve only ever been in love once so from my experience no… but it does make you vulnerable enough to have your heart ripped open.”
A snort escapes her. “I know how that feels, Ryder. You don’t have to tell me how that feels.”
So, if Braden ripped your heart open then why are you with him.”
No, not Braden. You.” Her words cut me to my core. “You ripped my heart out.”
My stomach twists in knots. I did everything but hurt her. Yes, we kept it a secret but I never did anything besides love her and make sure she knew that I did. Hadley was my world and when she left it felt like I was stranded in the middle of the ocean with no paddle in my one man boat.
Well, you ripped mine out too,” I tell her before taking another shot. I know she is open, answering questions, but she can’t just put all the blame of what happened on me. I didn’t leave her without any idea of where I went. She left me and she left me broken. “But unlike you I haven’t been able to have a normal working relationship since.”
Her eyes lift to mine hurling daggers at me with each second that passes by. Throwing her hands up her voice gets loud enough to draw attention. “Normal? Is this normal to you? My “normal” relationship is hanging on by a thread right now. And you…” she points at me, “ever since you came back it’s like that thread is rapidly unraveling!”
I quickly jump out of my side of the booth and slide into her side. Her eyes grow wide and she cowers into the back of it. Every inch I move in she pushes away until her back hits the wall and her knee comes up to block me. That one sentence, that one beautiful sentence has given me what I didn’t even know I needed to hear.
Leaning in as close as I can get without tasting those beautiful lips of hers I whisper, “Maybe that should tell you something, Had. I make no apologies for unraveling you and now that I know I’m helping dwindle the flimsy string that is holding the joke you call a relationship together,” I breathe in closer. “I plan on watching it fall to the floor and then I’ll secure you with nice, strong rope. Tie us up so tight you can’t move…not that you would want to.”
Her body shakes but not from being scared. It’s quivering. I’m making her quiver and her labored breaths are causing a stir behind the zipper of my jeans. If she wasn’t taken I would claim her mouth once again.
She doesn’t say a word but just stares between my lips and my eyes, her tongue coming out to wet her mouth. She wants me to kiss her.
Fuck it.
I lean in, pushing her erected knee into her chest. Her breath hitches as I bring my hand up to her cheek, caressing it softly, her head falling hesitantly into my palm. Bringing my lips closer she rewets hers, and I take that as my cue to grab the other side of her face and pull her towards me. Our lips just millimeters from one another, our eyes locked on each other.
I pull on a tendril of hair. “I miss the red. It suited you.”
Ryder,” she whispers, the alcohol from her breath intoxicating me.
Hadley,” I breathe back into her.
Her eyes blink back a tear and it breaks my heart. “I loved you.”
Taking another move getting so close I can feel her lips graze mine as I say, “I loved you more.”

I stay because I trust him, and that is something I never thought I could do with a man. Not since high school. Not since my heart was shattered, my trust betrayed and my world caved in. When I was forever changed by the only other man I've been with. The one who broke me into a million pieces so long ago. The reason I have yet to be put back together again.

Seven years ago they fell in love. It was the summer before their senior year of high school, three months changed their lives, and three sentences destroyed it all.

Hadley Chase had her heart shredded by the her first love and all these years later she is still picking up the pieces. She is nothing like the care-free girl she used to be and her relationship with Braden, her boyfriend of two years, seems to be sizzling out, but she's safe from from having her heart damaged any further.... Until HE walks back into her life and throws everything off balance. She is slowly starting to see signs of the old Hadley shining through and it doesn't take long to realize that the boy she once loved is now all man-the same man responsible for destroying the girl she was, and the same reason that girl is making a comeback. But with the old familiar spark comes the hurt and even though he ignites her insides, letting him back in is dangerous to her already shattered soul.

Ryder Blake has spent the last seven years filling his bed with women, but none of them have been able to fill the hole Hadley left in his heart when she disappeared from his life. The last thing he expected when he moved back to his hometown to be closer to his sister and starting a new job, was to run into Hadley after all this time-or her clear disgust and contempt towards him. She is no longer the girl he once knew, but one thing hasn't changed and that is how very much he still loves her. He will do whatever it takes to get her back-boyfriend or no boyfriend, by any means necessary, and not even Hadley can stop him.

Go see her, and as far as a boyfriend...well she isn't married...” His words trail off.
He's right. He's fucking right. I don't know when the hell I ever backed down from a challenge.
Thanks, man. You're right.”
“So what's the name of the girl that has you all strung up?”
“Hadley, but you might as well call her Mine.”

Amy Marie has done it again! She has turned me into an obsessed freakin fangirl and I love her for it. I cannot get enough of this series or these characters who manage to make me laugh, turn me on, piss me off, and fix me up-over and over again, book after book, page after page-Every. Single. Time. I think this has now become my new favorite of the series so far and I have Ryder to thank for that. I'd say he has reached saint-like status for me if he wasn't so deliciously dirty. That man has steel resolve and determination, persistence and patience, he's kind, caring, giving, compassionate, strong and sexy as all hell-he's the total package and he completely stole my heart. That man suffered, but he never once backed down on what he believed in. Now Hadley.... don't get me wrong, I loved the girl. She's sweet and funny-her & Noe together cracked me up-she's also incredibly broken and lost, buried behind years of heartache and a situation she can't seem to free herself of. But she's also a runner and stubborn as hell, she takes the word misunderstanding and makes it her own. She needs to look up a little thing called 'communication' in the dictionary and commit it to memory. She pissed me off- I won't say why or how, you just have to experience that little bit of fun just like I did-but I still love her. And hey, she didn't aggravate me NEARLY as much as Noelle did in 'Undone', so there's that. Braden took me totally by surprise and not in a good way. We don't really get too see to much of Walker & Erin in this one, but we do get some Noe & Trent hilarity which was fun-I love checking back in with everyone plus we get to meet some new people that I'm sure we will see more of in the future. Ryder & Hadley's story was definitely what I would call a 'Slow-Burn' type of book. Even though these two have history, the build up in this one is long and intense but so utterly worth it. We also get treated to some flashbacks from their time together in high school and it really helped to not only understand their connection, but their downfall. The chemistry between these two was wicked but clouded with pain and the pace truly keeps you gripped tight in the story-dying to see what happens next, hoping beyond hope that these two can finally find some peace, and drowning in a lust induced haze. I loved every minute of it, even when I was mad as hell. Undeniable just proved once again exactly why Amy Marie will always hold a spot on my One-Click-Addiction List. This woman steals my heart and my sanity every time and I cannot wait to see what she brings us next-both in this series and out of it.

You mean everything. Everything.”
“I can hear it in your voice, Hadley. You want me but I need to make sure you believe me. There is a fine line between lust and love-but an even finer line between love and trust. I need you to trust me. It's only ever been you.”
