I stroked his leg under the table with my foot. “Oh,” I moaned, making my voice airy and breathless. “Is the food orgasmic?”

He smiled, a curve of his sculpted mouth. “You enjoy torturing me, don’t you?”
Yes, I did. I took great pleasure in watching him squirm when I gave him blue veined throbbers out in public. And I found it especially amusing when he told me he pictured playing mini golf with his grandmother whenever he had to tame the rumbling in his loins.

Why?” I lowered my voice and feigned innocence. “Do you have a hard-on right now?”
Grinning with just enough arrogance to make him look sexy, he reclined in his seat and said coolly, “Nah. That’s my dick normally. Huge, right?”

You poor thing.” My shoulders lifted with laughter. “Is your stiffy giving you a hernia?

Don’t worry, all you need to do is tuck and duck and I’ll try not to laugh.”

Miss Frost,” he chided

Sadie Frost? The Sadist Ice Queen? Why?”
She intrigues me,” I said simply. No woman had ever fascinated me as much as she did. She was aloof and mysterious. A gorgeous mix of beauty and brains, hardness and vulnerability.
And she captivated me.

He was the new guy in the office, the ex military who hasn't been in a serious relationship in years....
She was the office Ice Queen. Cold, hard, unapproachable....
He wanted her, she wanted nothing to do with him, everyone warned him away...
But Julian will stop at nothing to break through her icy exterior. She intrigues him like none other and he just knows there is a sexy little kitten hidden behind the hellcat she shows the world and he is willing to bet she is worth the fight.
Let the pursuit begin....

You look after everyone else, Sadie. But who's looking after you?”
“Me. It's always been me and then you come into my life and you make me so fucking happy and I'm scared, Julian. I'm scared shitless. I'm scared that I'm making a big fucking mistake.”

There were things I loved about this book & things that drove me slightly crazy-but all in all, it was a pretty decent romance and that's thanks, in large part, to Julian. That man was pretty damn perfect. He's persistent, patient, supportive & sweet, sexy, dirty, caring & protective, he goes after what he wants with no apologies, has a vulnerable side and has no problem with women in charge-I really did love everything about him. Now Sadie took some getting used to-I should have been prepared, the synopsis said as much, but in the beginning she really did come across as an Ice Queen. No matter how nice Julian was she kept him at a distance-a hard, cold distance, and was was pretty mean about it at times. There was more than a few occasions that I wondered why dude even continued to bother-it was clear he was never gonna melt that frosty exterior. But then I got to know her a bit better. The woman has the weight of the world, and then some, on her shoulders-so I get it, I do- still... she did go a bit overboard sometimes. But Julian is not one to back down when he sees something he wants, and he wants Sadie. The women intrigues him, fascinates him, and the few glimpses he gets behind the mask makes him only want to know her more. This is definitely what I would classify as a slow-burn romance, but once it heats up it really catches fire. This is where my half empty comes in-the sex scenes were hot as hell, but the descriptions left me cringing a few times. This is just my personal opinion and does not reflect on the author at all-I just don't like words like honeyed, cream & or creamy, juicy... you get the point. It takes me out of the scene just a little bit because I don't find it at all sexy. Again-this is just my personal view and will not reflect the opinions of everyone. The sex was still steamy- there was this one part with some mirrors that I will not forget anytime soon, so it didn't ruin the story for me. This book took an emotional turn I was not expecting where Evan was concerned (you'll learn who he is if you read the book-which I DO recommend) and my heart broke a bit for him, but I loved him. I was quite pleased to read about people who love Greek Mythology as much as I do, that was a fun little addition to the story. There will be some laughs along the way, plenty of tears and frustration, hope, fro-yo & some men who made me wanna shower (and NOT for the dirty, fun reasons)-all around, it was a pretty fab journey and one that firmly put Ms. Haleigh Lovell on my radar. Cannot wait to see what she brings us next.

his patience never faltered.
He always took the time to reassure me, to let me know he had my back, to let me know he was here for me, even when he has his own problems at work weighing so heavily upon him.
And the love he offered, it was the kind of love that fed my soul-encouraging, supporting, and absolute.
The kind of love that sent me off into the world each day and helped me take on whatever came my way.
