Meet Avery & Drew in Katee Robert’s newest sexy standalone from Entangled Brazen!
He's going above and beyond the call of duty...
Avery Yeung's biological clock just went off early. Thanks to her family's medical history, she's running out of time to get knocked up. And the only guy within donating distance? Her overprotective-and irritatingly hot-best friend. So clearly she needs an anonymous donor...
Anonymous donor? Over Sheriff Drew Flannery's dead body. While daddyhood will never be in the cards for a man with his past, Drew won't let Avery shop for a "popsicle pop." He'll do what's right for his best friend by doing his best friend. But only if they do it properly.
But there's nothing "proper" about it. Between the bed, the kitchen counter, and against his squad car, Avery and Drew are having the hottest sex ever. They can't get enough of it-or each other. And without knowing it, they've crossed the one line that could ruin their friendship forever...
She ran her fingers over his chest, enjoying his well-defined pecs. Drew was in killer shape, and his upper body could seriously fill out a T-shirt. She leaned down and flicked his nipple with her tongue, before moving further south.
His breathing changed as she hovered over the waistband of his sweats, saving her from the debate of if she was really going to make a move on him while he was sleeping. “You going to stop there?”
She looked up to find his eyes open. Stop? Not a chance. “I’m considering.”
“Keep it up and I might have to jump you instead.”
No way was she missing this chance. “Shh. It’s my turn to drive things tonight.”
She hooked his waistband and pulled it down over his hips, the sight of his cock temporarily stealing her breath.
She’d seen him naked a few times, but the impact only seemed to be growing instead of decreasing like it should. Nothing about this was going like it should, from the sex to the forbidden emotions welling up in her chest. She didn’t want to think about that, though.
Not now, maybe not ever.
The only thing she did want occupying her headspace was how good it felt to touch him. She slid down a little further to get comfortable and then gave his cock a slow stroke. Truth be told, she could play with him all night, but she didn’t think his patience would hold for that kind of treatment unless he was tied down.
An idea for later maybe…
She licked up the underside of his cock, earning a hissed breath. Emboldened, she took him in her mouth, as deep as she could manage, mirroring the slow stroke she’d just done with her hand. Drew cursed, his hands spasming in her hair.
Power beat through her. She could drive him out of his mind like this, with just her mouth and her hands. It would be the easiest thing in the world. She moved to shallower strokes, using her tongue to swirl around the head of his cock.
“Avery, I—” She met his gaze as she licked him, and Drew cursed again, louder. “Holy fuck. Come here.”

He'd be the one there for her, financially and otherwise, while she raised some other dude's spawn.
He might as well be the one who got the perks to go with the burden. And those were some huge fucking perks. Avery might be forbidden territory, but that hadn't ever stopped him from thinking about her like that.
Avery Yeung's biological clock isn't just ticking, it's running out. Due to her family's medical history, and recent knowledge, if she ever wants to have a baby-she has to do it NOW. With no man to speak of, she won't even let that stand in the way of what she wants-so sperm bank it is. She already knows her family will not like her decision, what she never expected was her best friends reaction...
Sheriff Drew Flannery will do anything for his best friend, except stand by and watch her have a baby with some anonymous donor, not when he has perfectly fine swimmers. Being a father never has, or will, be in the cards for Drew-not with his past, but he can still give Avery what she wants - on his terms. If he is gonna knock up his best friend, he will do it the old fashioned way-in a bed... or on the counter... or up against his squad car... making a baby has never been so hot. Neither were prepared for the lust-fueled explosion that follows, the closer they get the more they want and it doesn't take long to realize they may have crossed a line there is no coming back from.
He was so wrapped up in the situation that he couldn't see the light of day. No matter how hard he tried to hold on to the absolute truths he'd clung to at the beginning, the boundaries between them were changing. And he had no idea what to so about it.
It's no secret that I'm a big fan of the whole friends to lovers storyline, especially when we're talking about best friends-who doesn't love that, right?! Books like this are the reason why. There is still all the drama you would expect from a good romance, just a different kind. Here we have two people who have been best friends since the first grade, which is basically most of their lives-they care deeply for one another and have been there for each other through everything-losing mothers, cancer scares, alcoholic fathers, oppressive grandparents-they are each others strength. Crossing the line from friends to lovers, even of it's only for the sake of giving Avery a baby, scares the hell outta them. They are terrified it will blow up in their faces and destroy a twenty year friendship, something neither would be able to handle. Add in the fact that intimacy like that is damn near impossible to keep your heart out of. I did find it amazing that they were able to deny the intense chemistry that clearly burns between them for so long-the explosion that happens when when they first come together was undeniable, hott as hell, and brought home the fact that things were about to get real complicated real fast. Once the genie is out of the bottle things get damn hott-they can't even be near each other without wanting to rip each others clothes off and you can't help but wonder how they thought they could go back to being just friends after that. Besides the smokin hott sex-which there is plenty of-this book pulls some pretty strong emotions out. You can practically feel the fear they have at losing each other, you watch first hand the shift their hearts go through, and witness Drew's demons that keep him from going after what he wants or ever truly being happy. It was a pretty wicked journey that I would happily read again... and again and have no problem recommending to anyone and everyone who likes these types of romances as much as I do. Katee Robert has landed herself a spot on my One-Click-Addiction List with these two one blush and giggle at a time and I cannot wait to see what she brings us next.
he was on thin ice and slipping fast. He couldn't imagine his life like it used to be, before he was able to pull her into his lap and do whatever it took to make her cry out his name. Before he had the ability to hold her as they fell asleep at night.
New York Times & USA TODAY Bestselling Author
Katee Robert learned to tell stories at her grandpa’s knee. Her favorites then were the rather epic adventures of The Three Bears, but at age twelve she discovered romance novels and never looked back.
Though she dabbled in writing, life got in the way—as it often does—and she spent a few years traveling, living in both Philadelphia and Germany. In between traveling and raising her two wee ones, she had the crazy idea that she’d like to write a book and try to get published.
Her first novel was an epic fantasy that, God willing, will never see the light of day. From there, she dabbled in YA and horror, before finally finding speculative romance. Because, really, who wouldn’t want to write entire books about the smoking-hot relationships between two people?
She now spends her time—when not lost in Far Reach worlds—playing imaginary games with her wee ones, writing, ogling men, and planning for the inevitable zombie apocalypse.
