he knew as long as he had Ella, nothing else mattered. He refused to examine why. It wasn't love, because the feeling wasn't light or happy. It was dark and weighed heavily on his heart. She was a poisonous addiction.

I'm going to have to be very careful about what I say here, this is one of those books that you really have to experience as it comes to really appreciate it. Based on the synopsis, I was expecting this to be loaded with lots of twists and turns, which it was, what I was NOT prepared for was the MASSIVE surprise that smacked me upside the head almost immediately-and that set the pace, and feel, of what was to come. To say this starts out with a bang would be a major understatement. The pace doesn't let up, from start to finish it was full of drama, passion, hott HOTT sex, surprises, tears, anxiety, danger-it was relentless and I loved every damn minute of it. Ella took me completely by surprise in a really good way, though I can't say why. Let me put it this way-all is not as it initially appears where she is concerned, don't make the mistake of thinking you have her all figured out as quickly as I did-I was wrong. So so wrong. Jake was definitely a leading force in this adventure-obsessive, possessive, jealous as hell, slightly insane and not at all sorry about his actions or behavior #SorryNotSorry. I am not ashamed to admit I LOVED THAT MAN and ALL his craziness. For all his faults the man knew what he wanted, had no problem going after it, would do anything to protect and take care of those he loved-nothing or no one would stand in his way. I'm keeping my opinion to myself about Clayton-you have to come to your own judgments where that one is concerned and big blonde Viking Aron stole a piece of my heart even if he is still a bit of a mystery. What it all boils down to is-this was an amazing read from beginning to end sure to keep you on the edge of your seat drowning in a lust-fueled haze and begging for more. Victoria Paige has crash landed on my One-Click-Addiction List with this FAB book and I cannot wait to see what she brings us next.

For the first time ever, he understood the meaning of home because he was feeling it deeply. She felt like home. Its comforts, all he ever wanted to be happy.

I work as a freelance database administrator, and when I'm not geeking out, I write romantic suspense novels. I live in Richmond, Va--less than two hours away from Washington DC--so most of the settings of my books are in the nation's capital--of course, I'm not averse to creating fictional towns and cities. ;)

When I'm not arguing with the alpha male characters in my head, I love to watch high-octane action movies.
