What the fuck am I supposed to do about her? I admit this whole new take control attitude thing she had going on was pretty hot. Just because I've sworn off women doesn't mean my dick has. And Ivy is too good for a quick fuck. She's a good girl with a beautiful heart.
While this story definitely had the whole 'Girl finally lands the guy she has been in love with for years but he was too blind to see what was right in front of him' thing going on, it was also a lot more brutal than I expected. The stalker aspect took a deadly, and frankly-scary, turn I wasn't prepared for. Not that I minded that personally, I actually love my romance dipped in darkness, but I think it's something you should know before diving in just in case that isn't your thing. We move at a pretty rapid pace, the plot picking up speed as we go along til the inevitable explosion which keep me completely immersed right til the end. The characters were all pretty captivating, but Ivy stole the show for me. She had a badass side you wouldn't initially expect, she is strong and more than willing to try to take control of her life back, and the way she finally took the bull by the horns where Gabe was concerned was awesome. She just got tired of waiting for him to see her and said screw it-this is the way it is dude, open your eyes and fall in line. It was pretty wicked. But I do have to admit I was a little thrown by the way the climax played out. It just happened. We never actually find out what happened because A) we don't read it through Ivy's eyes, we just see the aftermath through Gabe. And B) Ivy refuses to talk about it, which I get, I really do-I was just left feeling like that part of the book never actually closed for me simply because I never went through it. We just kinda skipped on past it. With the way the book builds up to that point, it just really threw me off. Other than that, it was an enjoyable, edge-of-your-seat read that left me with a conclusion as well as an opening for more. JB Heller has definitely grabbed my attention and I'm ready to see what she brings us next.
I should let her go. I should be the better man and I should control myself. But I can't. Not where Ivy is concerned, not anymore. Now that I've tasted her, I can't go back.
J B Heller is an average Aussie housewife with a wicked sexy imagination. She and her super sexy husband are the parents of three little minions.
She spends her days running around after her raucous children and jotting down stories in her flower embossed leather notebook (She is very particular about her stationary.). But the kids often run off with said stationary so she is forced to use her iPhone, iPad or whatever she can get her hands on (Darn kids!).
When the kids are taking their nap, nine times out of ten, J B can be found sitting at her computer typing as fast as she can, while she can, usually with her phone wedged between her shoulder and ear bouncing ideas off her sister.
