Blog Tour Review~ Thrown to the Wolves (Black River Pack #3) by Rochelle Paige

Thrown to the Wolves
Black River Pack Series #3

by Rochelle Paige

~Synopsis~

Annora Channing's entire world changes the moment she discovers she's a bear shifter. With mated wolves for parents, she should have been a wolf also. When the man she grew up thinking was her father realizes she isn't his daughter, he devises a plan to use her existence to his advantage in a way that will get her out from under his roof.

When her situation goes from bad to worse, Annora escapes but is badly injured in the process. Luckily, Elias Reve comes to her rescue while on his way to Wolf's Point and the daughter he lost years ago. With nowhere else to go and nobody to turn to, Annora joins him on his journey and ends up running smack-dab into the arms of her mate.

Parker Tate knows Annora is his the moment he lays eyes on her. When he manages to mate and mark her within hours of when they meet, he considers himself lucky. Then the trouble nipping at Annora's heels finds her and Parker realizes the path to claiming his mate won't be as easy as he thought - especially not with the bears involved.

This is book three in the Black River Pack series. Each novella features a different couple.

The door had just started to close behind them, so I almost missed her dad’s next words. Thank fuck I didn’t though.
Besides which, I left Annora at the table when I saw you pull up,” he explained. “Poor girl probably thinks I’ve abandoned her, and she’s still too sore to move quickly enough to catch up to me.”
Annora,” I whispered in wonder.
My brain was catching up to my wolf as I grabbed the door and swung it open to catch up to them only to stop dead in my tracks. The scent that drifted to me was sweeter than anything I’d ever smelled before. Like cotton candy on a hot summer’s day.
Breathing deeply, I zeroed in on the curvy brunette sitting in the corner booth. She really was here. My mate.

~this review may contain minor spoilers~

It didn't really matter if my mate was short or tall, curvy or skinny, bear or wolf. What mattered was that she was in danger and I needed to find her as soon as possible.

~Annora Channing had a pretty crappy home life growing up, and that was BEFORE she shifted into a bear for the first time. Considering both her parents are wolves, it came as quite a shock. As soon as the man she grew up believing was her father realizes she is in fact not his, he finds a way to get rid of her-a plan that works to his benefit in more ways than one, a plan that drops her right into a living hell. But she gets away and is now on the run. With the help of a stranger on a journey of his on, she finds herself in Wolf's Point and right in the path of a wolf mate she never saw coming. Being surrounded by people who actually want her and care for her for the first time in her life while discovering how blissful being mated could be should leave her feeling secure and at peace... if it weren't for the threat still hanging over her head.

~Parker Tate has waited what feels like forever to finally have his intended mate in his sights, and once he does he wastes no time mating and marking her. But that was just the easy part as he soon realizes that his mate is still very much in danger. He will do whatever it takes to protect her, after waiting so long to find her nothing and no one will ever take her away again.

A howl sprang from my lips and my wolf celebrated our joy. I could feel her heartbeat as if it were my own, as though our hearts beat together. Our mating bond was locked into place, so it was as though we were two halves of the same soul who lived and breathed inside each other.

I have been dying to get Parker's story-who doesn't love a sweet, sexy man with a knight-in-shining-armor complex? As an added bonus, we find out he's a little dirty too!! I do love me some hott werewolf sex. But the icing on the cake was Annora. She did what she had to to survive, she was badass, possessive and dirty-all wrapped up in a sweet, curvy, vulnerable package. As soon as these two realized who they were to each other, they wasted no time and it was steamy as hell. I loved that she finally found a place where she felt at home and I imagine going from no one caring about you to being surrounded by a new family was a bit overwhelming-but she never hid away. She blossomed. And she refused to let her man fight her battles for her without at least being by his side. They really were a perfect pair. And I loved the fact that we get to see Hunter and Spencer's stories continue as well as getting to meet a handful of awesome, and surprising new characters. I'm not entirely sure if the series will conclude now that we have all three brothers stories, but I hope not. I am far from ready to leave Wolf's Point. So freakin glad Ms. Paige decided to dive into the paranormal genre, her Wolves will not soon be forgotten.

It didn't matter what presents I got for Christmas this year because I'd already gotten the only thing I ever really wanted-a family that truly cared for me and showed it. And a mate who gave me anything I wanted-often before I even knew I did.

I absolutely adore reading - always have and always will. My friends growing up used to tease me when I would trail after them, trying to read and walk at the same time. If I have downtime, odds are you will find me reading or writing.

I am the mother of two wonderful sons who have inspired me to chase my dream of being an author. I want them to learn from me that you can live your dream as long as you are willing to work for it.

When I told my mom that my new year's resolution was to self-publish a book in 2013, she pretty much told me "About time!"
