~Synopsis~

They say the only good thing about hitting rock bottom is that it can't get any worse . . . or can it?
World famous boxing champ, Felix Sanchez, had it all—the fame, the fortune, and all the women any man could ask for. When the hours of partying followed by hours spent in court and in rehab begin to outnumber the hours he spends training, losing his title comes as no surprise to everyone. The world assumes he deserved to lose it.

Only those closest to Felix know the real truth behind his sudden downward spiral. And if Felix has his way, no one else ever will. With an uncertain future ahead of him, he heads back to his roots—5th Street—the gym that started it all for him. It's where he meets the humble but mighty little Ms. Ella.

The only times Felix had ever decided to forgo the usual meaningless fling and try a real relationship he was burned badly. Now the adorable but tenacious self-defense instructor has him considering this love thing one more time.

Then just when he begins to worry that his past is letting his possessive and jaded heart get the best of him, he's blindsided in the most brutal way—he's brought to his knees—to what could be the one low in his life he may never recover from.

~this review may contain minor spoilers~

She may've lost all respect for the athlete he'd once been, when he seemed to lose his love for the sport and went all Hollywood instead, but she could definitely see why so many women wanted a piece of him. He was amazing.

Let me just start by saying that I am completely new to this series, this is the first book I have read, and while I never really suffered any confusion or felt like I was lost, I do wish I had read the other books for no other reason than I really want the back stories on the previous couples now!! I can't even begin to explain just how much I loved this book, it had everything I love in a great romance; chemistry, drama, angst & tears, sexy-as-hell sweaty Alpha's, STRONG female leads, laughs and plenty of steam without the ever dreaded insta-love. So sooo many fantastic characters to cling to-it's clear the 5th-street crew is a family, all very close, all extremely loyal, always there for each other and always ready with a laugh and some well timed ribbing when needed. Felix and Ella both have such heartbreaking backgrounds, events that should have destroyed most people and nearly did Felix; but Ella is such an amazingly strong woman, she not only pulled her family through all their tragedies but she helped bring Felix back to life in a way he never though possible-and frankly, scared the crap outta him. But I have to say, when that man puts his mind to something he goes all out to get, and keep, what he wants. Yes, he still had his asshat moments-he is still a man after all, but he recognizes when he's being a douche right away and immediately sets out to fix what he broke. Ella has this wonderful ability to not judge people, looks past the surface to whats underneath, and knows how to forgive without becoming a doormat. I really have no complaints other than this came to an end-I don't think any length or amount of pages would have been too much for me. Elizabeth Reyes skyrocketed her way onto my One-Click-Addiction List with this fabulous group of people and I CANNOT WAIT to start back at the beginning or to see what she brings us next.

Felix drove away, unable to fight the feeling that maybe he was in trouble. Trouble because he'd known this girl for all of one day and already all he could think about was getting back to 5th Street tomorrow and seeing her again. He tried to shake it, but what made the feeling worse was that feelings like this brought back memories.

Top 5 Character Traits that would best describe Felix?

5. Vulnerable – harsh life experiences have made him vulnerable though he hides it pretty well.

4. Stubborn – It takes him a few chapters to admit he might actually being feeling more for Ella than he cares to admit.

3. Hot headed – He's learned to stay cool because of his profession and his past experiences and indiscretions but once he hit's that breaking point he will snap and it won't be pretty.

2. Jealous/suspicious – most of these traits stem from something that he's experienced in his past. Having been burned once by an ex-girlfriend he's highly suspicious and jealous.

1. Loving – when it comes to his family, his friends, and especially his Ella the guy loves hard. So hard you'll likely need tissue when reading his story.
