“I’ll wait forever, sunshine. I loved you then. I love you now. I’ll always love you.”
Former Navy SEAL Travis Blake is a rising star in the security business. In two short years, Blake Security Inc. has become highly sought after by the who’s who in Washington DC.
But unbeknownst to many, Travis is haunted by the mysterious death of his wife three years before. He carries with him the guilt of not being there to protect the one person who meant everything to him. He has buried his wife, but his heart refuses to accept that the body six feet under is hers. His obsessive search for her leads him deep into the trenches of covert ops—and everything is not what it seems.
Caitlin Kincaid has been on the run for a while. The sum of her memories began three years ago when she awakened with a broken arm and leg and a severe concussion. Hunted down by a secret group within the U.S. government, her companion persuades her to stay off the grid because of the standing kill order on their heads. One night, while fleeing assassins, she is left on the side of the road with a cryptic message: “It’s time for you to stop running. I’m not the one you love.”
When Travis receives news that the woman who has turned up at the American Embassy in Berlin could be his wife, he wastes no time getting to her. He is unprepared for the devastation that shreds him when Caitlin looks at him with no recognition in her eyes. Amnesia is a challenging enough obstacle for winning the love of his life back. But with lies defining the past three years of her life, Caitlin becomes wary of anyone’s help.
Love was never the problem. A marriage cannot survive without trust. As sinister forces threaten the bond they are trying to rebuild, trust must come quickly or one of them will die.
* Strong sexual content and language. Disturbing situations.

“It's time for you to stop running. I'm not the one you love.”
Travis Blake, former Navy SEAL, runs a highly successful security business and for all appearances is doing quite well with his life; except he is a broken man. He has never gotten over the sudden death of his wife three years ago and deep down, he doesn't actually believe her body is the one he buried. So when he gets word that a woman matching his wife's description shows up at an Embassy in another country, he doesn't hesitate to fly out and see it for himself. His overwhelming relief at finally seeing with his own eyes that his Sarah is still alive gets overshadowed by heartbreak and disbelief when she doesn't recognize him.
Caitlin Kincaid has no memories of her life prior to three years ago when she woke up with broken bones and no idea who she was. Living life on the run, in constant danger, escaping the assassins who are always on her tail, is all she knows. Then one day, the man she has spent the last three years fighting for her life with, Jase, leaves her on the side of the road with nothing but the clothes on her back and a cryptic message. When she first meets her husband Travis, she doesn't know what to think; living in constant danger has caused her to not trust anyone, and it seems as though Travis truly does know and love her, even if she can't remember it. But the fact remains that she is in danger and Travis makes it clear that he will not lose her again; and who better can keep her safe than a former SEAL who does security for a living? Together they must try to figure out who is after Caitlin and why, what caused her amnesia, and hopefully find their way back in to each others hearts; but it's not easy when you have no idea who you can trust.
that was genuine pain in his eyes when she had scorned his claim that she was his wife. And she had flaunted another man in front of him. Caitlin cringed with guilt. Adulteress came to mind. Was it adultery when she had no frigging clue that she was married?
This book was a whirlwind of emotions, action, and danger, from start to finish. The mystery behind what happened to Caitlin was complex and loaded with deception, and the heartbreak that Travis suffered at being so close to the woman he never gave up on, but still can't have, was devastating. You could feel his pain and frustration like it was your own and hoped with all you had that he could get his wife back. And believe me, she made him work for it; that woman was stubborn as hell, but he was persistent. His commitment was inspiring, he refused to give up no matter how much she tried to push him away; his love for her was obvious in everything he did. But when he when all badass Alpha male on her? Hott. As. Hell. Just, damn. The sexy times were smokin'. The author did a fantastic job keeping us on our toes with the amount of deception running around, and mixed with the emotional journey these two were going through... it was one helluva ride chock full of amazing characters. The ending was perfect, if not a little bittersweet. My only remaining question is ~ When are we gonna get Gabe's story?! PLEASE tell me we are?! Ms. Victoria Paige has most definitely secured her spot on my One-Click Addiction list with this one and I cannot wait to see what she brings us next.
“I don't care if you drive me nuts trying to protect you. All I hope and pray is that you never leave me. Never, Cat.”
Meet Victoria Paige
I work as a freelance database administrator, and when I’m not geeking out, I write romantic suspense novels. I live in Richmond, Va—less than two hours away from Washington DC—so most of the settings of my books are in the nation’s capital—of course, I’m not averse to creating fictional towns and cities. ;)
When I’m not arguing with the alpha male characters in my head, I love to watch high-octane action movies. I think Jack Bauer is the shit, which is why most of my characters are such badasses bent on saving the world from evil doers.
I love reading adult contemporary, paranormal, urban fantasy, historical, romantic suspense, and a few new adult fiction as well as military non-fiction.
