Thoeba is a creature of light. As all things must be in balance, when the Energy created her kind it also created the darkness.
Thoeba’s world fell to darkness forcing her to flee. She came to Earth to protect the Energy, losing everything in the process.
Darkness has found a way to follow her and threatens to take this world as well.
With only humans as allies, can she succeed?
Thoeba’s heart lurched. For ten minutes the Energy hadn’t calmed down, hadn’t come back to Itself.
If anything, It retreated further. That frightened her. She feared it would die right then and there, and it
might be her fault. Surely her argument with the humans hadn’t caused this?
What had come over her?
She asked it of herself over again. It had been awhile since she had dealt with their species, but she
didn’t dislike them that much. She should have known better than to talk to them that way. They were
sensitive. Not to mention Peter had saved her life.
She hadn’t noticed the profound silence until a familiar scent caressed her nostrils like the touch of an
She turned toward the entrance.
A demon, in all its dark glory, took up the entire doorframe. Two red coals glowed from the shadows.
It hunched forward, as though the weight of its single horn were too much for its scrawny neck muscles.
It grinned at her, an expression as welcoming as a dinner invitation from a vampire, with bigger
She scanned for exits. Two windows, neither large enough to jump through. The only way out on this
floor was occupied. Any weapons she might use were in the kitchen where the monster emerged.
Options? Only the stairs.
Thoeba raced up, heard the beast lurching across the floor. She got to the top and ran for the veranda.
The French doors were open. She took a step, spread her wings...
And slammed to the floor.
“just make sure The Energy is safe. That is all that matters. Without The Energy, we are all lost.”

Barely aware of anything but the need to destroy, the minions of darkness experienced no pain. They understood only the joy of inflicting it.
Thoeba is an Angel, a creature of light, residing in Eden when a horde of evil kills her soul-mate and destroys her world; leaving her with mission unlike any other. She must protect The Energy, the creator of all things, and destroy the evil taking over before all is lost. Her journey lands her on earth, where The Energy believes we have the technology needed to end the battle of all battles. Thoeba doesn't particularly like humans, nor does she really trust them, but she needs them; they are her last hope and only allies in the war ahead. Will they be enough to help her destroy the monsters that have followed her to earth before they destroy that world too, and will she be able to restore the balance?
Fighting a single demon was one thing. Saving a deity along with the entire universe would be another. She had the uncomfortable sensation of doubt, that she would fail, and they would all die.
One thing I have come to rely on with this author is her ability to keep me on the edge of my seat throughout the entire story; she does not disappoint with this one. Right from the beginning you just know your in for one helluva ride, and it Does. Not. Stop. The action is intense, the danger is ever-present, and the characters will surprise you with their perseverance, determination, and courage. The villains in this story are many, they are vicious and scary, without morals or souls of any kinds, which make them the very worst sort of enemy to have to face~but these people do not quit; failure is not an option. Donna Milward has this truly amazing ability to deliver us a unique story that will grip your attention the entire time, while pulling at your heart and feeding your fears, yet she sprinkles just enough hope to keep you from drowning under the weight of the situation. It is so hard to put into words the things she will make you feel, yet I wouldn't trade it for the world; once again she has knocked me on my ass and I love her for it. Another fantastic job by a fabulous author I will never get enough of.
“Are you ready?”
She grinned. Her lover now knew her, himself and his destiny. Together, they could face anything.
Bring forth the darkness, she thought. I have no fear.
Bio for Thoeba
Thoeba was born thousands of years ago in a burst of energy and inspiration. She is a being created from perfect joy.
There is not much to tell of Thoebas early years. She spent several thousand of them frolicking in Eden with her soulmate, Thani. The carefree existence would come to an end as several more worlds were created and Thoeba volunteered for missions.
Her most notable mission was her last at Hiroshima, Japan, planet Earth. When the atomic bomb went off, she and several others of her kind were grievously injured. Thoeba herself spent several days broken and burned in the remains of a forest before her brethren found her and returned her to Eden.
Thoeba took her place at Thani’s side as a personal attendant to the Energy and swore to never return to Earth with its vicious humans...
Until the evil denizens of the void conquered the heavens.
Bio for Peter Mason
Peter Mason was born and raised in Cold Lake, Alberta, Canada. He spent his childhood years watching various aircraft soaring through the skies to and from the military base, and decided to become an Air Force pilot, specifically, for the F-18 Hornet.
Peter married his high school sweetheart at the age of 20 and fathered two children, named Zachary and Kayla. The marriage ended after 16 years, and Peter moved into his parents A-frame cabin on the lake with his dog, Crash.
He concentrated on his career and rose to the rank of Lt. Colonel. He obtained the nickname ‘Socks’ due to a habit of keeping spare pairs of clean socks everywhere he went, such as his locker, glovebox, boat, etc. He was taking some time off to indulgence in his favorite hobby of fishing when he met Thoeba.
Donna Milward lives in Edmonton, Alberta in a tiny house with a huge yard. She’s been writing all her life, but decided to put writing on hold to get ‘a real job’ as a meatcutter and build a future with her beloved troll, Dan and her cats Freya, and Spartacus Jones.
Twelve years later, an invitation to a Romance Writer’s Conference in Washington D.C. led not only to new friends and new knowledge, but to the inspiration to write again. Thoeba was completed the following year.
Donna likes to mix her fascination with reincarnation and all things paranormal with her love of mythology in her work, and has even written her own myth ‘The Sacred Truth” (on earthtothoeba.blogspot.com) as the lore behind Thoeba and future novels to come.
Donna enjoys fishing, gardening and canning. Despite these hobbies, she much prefers city life.
