As childhood sweethearts growing up in a small Texas town, Jordan and Cassie were the golden couple of their generation—the epitome of the All-American couple one only saw portrayed in movies. Six years later, Jordan is now the starting quarterback for the Miami Dolphins. At the peak of his career, he returns home following his father's health scare, and in the process, learns he fathered a child with his former flame.

While Cassie may have had her reasons for concealing her son from his father for five years, Jordan is determined to be a part of his child's life—despite being worlds apart from each other.

Unions will be tested as two worlds collide once more in an attempt to restore a former spark, but will it be enough to make a family whole again? Will Jordan believe home really is where the heart is?

~Home is Where the Heart is was an angst fueled, emotion based, slightly frustrating, second chance at love story and a beautiful debut by author Christie Mack~

So, you're a mum. I didn't know that”
“Yeah, well, of course you wouldn't. You miss a lot when you leave town and don't ever come back for a visit.”

Cassie and Jordan were the all American, perfect small-town couple. High school sweethearts on the cusp of adulthood, he was off to California to attend college and play football-both vowing they would find a way to stay together. But it doesn't take long for Jordan to break Cassie's heart never knowing exactly what he was leaving behind.
Now six years later, Jordan is the starting quarterback for the Miami Dolphins when a health scare with his father sends him back home for the first time since he left. The minute he runs into Cassie he's reminded of everything he loved about her, and just when he thinks he couldn't regret leaving the way he did any more than he already does, he meets the son he never knew existed. The spark between him and Cassie is as strong as ever, but can he convince her to give him another chance and become the family they should have been all along, or is fear of a broken heart and the miles between them too much to overcome?

She remembered how she used to feel every time he touchd her this way when they were dating. She'd always been vulnerable to his touch.
All her emotions came rushing straight back to her. Feelings she wasn't expecting or hoping to feel for him again were suddenly present all over again. She didn't know if she had the courage to turn him away right now, and even if she did, did she really want to?

While I didn't fall head over heels in love with this book, I did enjoy it. It was very much a character driven story full of emotion, angst, and drama but I never fully connected with the characters. Jordan seemed to waffle back and forth too often for my sanity and Cassie was frustrating as hell, as was Gabby. I fell in love with their son Jake, he was a perfect combination of his parents and was the glue that held everything together. The story moved at a nice pace, there wasn't really any slow moments, but the conversations between Cassie & Jordan just didn't always flow all too smoothly. I attributed that mostly to the years and pain separating them, but it did remove me from the story once or twice. All in all, it was a fantastic debut by Christie Mack and I will still happily read more from her-I am very much looking forward to finding out what happens with Gabby & Nick, all I can do is hope I will get to read their story and check in on Jordan, Cassie & Jake.

Wherever I am, always know you have my heart, and no one can ever take it away from you. You're my forever and always, baby.”

I'm a 27 year old Australian girl who loves nothing more than finding a really good romance book you can't put down until the characters get the happily ever after that they deserve. It was through reading that I decided to put pen to paper, or in this case, fingertip to computer key, and jot down the stories my brain comes up with. When I'm not reading the endless supply of books added daily to my iPad, I can be found tucked away with my laptop in front of me as I write about the many characters begging me to tell their story, one book boyfriend at a time.
