The truth this time, and nothing but the truth…

Polliannah Koch Guryev is in trouble and her boyfriend is dead. It's not the first time amateur sleuth Sémya Slotin finds herself on the first plane to rescue her best friend, but nothing's prepared her for what she finds in Toronto. Polliannah is a widow and her late husband John Allen was a hit man for the powerful Dovos family. What did they want from her? Why is this happening? One thing they do know: their carefree life back in London is officially over.

Sémya’s long-time boyfriend Josh Heinz knows more than he lets on, but as usual he’s not telling her anything. In fact, everyone knows more but nobody’s talking. But that never stops Sémya Slotin, Detective Extraordinaire, from finding out the truth beneath the lies…

But at what cost? Old conspiracies and secrets resurface that put them all in peril. Sémya’s worst fears about her relationship with Josh and his past are confirmed, and the rift between them may never heal.

Sémya and Polliannah’s world is falling apart. Will they be able to come out of this stronger?

Oh, and did I mention that Polliannah got married?

She shivered involuntary. Colin would be here soon. “Dressing me up makes Polliannah happy and right now I’ll do about anything to make her happy,” she said. Even wearing a dress so short, it might give Colin the wrong idea. And Vincent, he had that predatory look in his eyes. She knew all too well what happened when he looked at her like that.
How is she?” he asked. His expression softened a little.
As well as expected I guess three weeks after losing her husband,” she shrugged back. “She had a husband!”
Yeah Polliannah got married!” he chuckled back.
I can’t believe she got married before me,” she said thinking out loud. He gave her smug look back. “It’s not like I’m thinking about marriage. The women in my family were not very lucky when it comes to marriage. I like things the way they are,” she said and vigorously nodded her head. “Yes, why would I ever think about getting married?”
Vincent smiled, “I always believed that it would be a beach wedding. You look lovely under the sunset when your skin is glowing almost golden. You’re not a dress person, a beautiful long off white sarong around your waist. I’m all for topless and garlands but I don’t think flashing the minister would be a good idea. No shoes of course, your hair would be loose and long… well it has always been just a thought,” he said still smiling at her.
Sémya felt her eyes makeup prickling her, “You thought about it.” She was slowly walking towards him.
Three and a half years Sémya, what do you think I was thinking about?” he said. He caressed her face once she was in front of him.
I had no idea, Vincent… that was the problem,” she said. She took his hand and tangled it with hers.
Sémya… you, always you… forever you,” he said. He sounded so desperate, so sad. Where was the big strong Vincent now?
Vincent…” She let go of his hand to lower his face to hers and the moment their lips touched everything changed. There were colours in the room once more. Her world had been dull and grey for the past three weeks and she only noticed it now. She deepened the kiss, moaning each time their tongues touched. She felt delicious sparks all over her body. She needed to feel his hands all over her. She wanted to feel him inside her so badly. She needed to feel whole again. She started to walk backward until they hit the desk. “I need you…,” she moaned against his lips and unfastened his jeans.
Babe… I’m here. I never left you,” he groaned and set on her desk. He fondled and massaged her hair dropping kisses along her neck, “Sémya… I want you,” he said when his jeans dropped on the floor.
Sémya look at his erection and brought it to her, “I want you too Vincent, so much,” she whispered in his ear and let him plunged into her. They both let out a primal growl, trembling, trying to find their balance but refusing to stop moving. Their lips never parted as if it would break their connection if it did. Sémya couldn’t remember the last time she felt like herself, so free… I’ve missed you so much. She felt a wave of passion, lust and love hit her and threw her head back letting out a moan.
She was still basking in that wave when she heard Vincent groaning against her neck. “I love you so much, Sémya.”
It was just too much for her to handle and it finally happened… Sémya felt those tears she had been holding back for the past three weeks rolling on her cheeks. She couldn’t stop them from falling down and began to weep uncontrollably still in Vincent’s arm.
Babe, what’s going on?” he asked. She could hear the panic in his voice, but wasn’t able to answer; instead she kept weeping even more.

*****5 -Wildly Intense Ride- Stars*****
~contains spoilers from previous books~

Once again he was keeping her in the dark and she hadn't felt this helpless in years. No, it wasn't even that. She was desperate and she hadn't felt like this in a long time. That helpless desperation that took her over each time she knew she couldn't control a situation.

This series and this author just get better by the book, from the very beginning- and I mean book one- the action starts and the pace Does. Not. Slow. Down. Every time one mystery is solved it only leads to another and each one is more shocking and way more dangerous than the last. It's just a completely gripping story loaded with characters that demand your attention and sooo many secrets, it's explosive.

Fuck! Why can't she listen to me for once?”
“Because you're lying to her all the time,” Aaron said. Josh should know this by now.
Get over here, Dmitri. I think Sémya found out about five years ago. No, I don't know how! She's Sémya. She could actually find the freaking needle in the blasted haystack!”

If you have been reading this series so far, and I highly recommend that you do, then you know book two ended with Polliannah witnessing her husbands murder. The first call she makes is to her best friend and amateur detective extraordinaire, Sémya Slotin and her boyfriend Josh Heinz- they immediately hop on a plane to Toronto. It's doesn't take long for Sémya's world to blow up on her in a major way when Josh's secrets are finally revealed. She always knew he was hiding things from her, she just never expected them to be what were. She is starting to realize that maybe she never really knew him at all, and that tears her apart. Josh feels terrible for keeping things from her and for hurting her as badly as he did, he just wants a chance to make it right, though he fears he may be to late-there may be no explanations that can fix this. But none of this changes the fact that they are in Toronto for a reason- there is a murderer on the loose and a plot that has been in the making for years that is pitting the Guryev's, Dovos, and FREGG's against each other. With three powerful and dangerous organizations out for blood, it's up to Sémya and her team to figure out who is behind it all before it turns into a bloodbath. Secrets hide around every corner, some more devastating than others, danger is ever present and Sémya has to figure out exactly who she can trust and how she plays into it all. Just when you think you have it all figured out, everything will be blown to pieces in a way that will leave you screaming.

I'm sorry, but this is the best case I've ever had,” she exclaimed. She was gasping for air with a wide grin on.
Vincent knew that look all too well. “Your totally turned on right now. Did you just climax?”
Maybe...a little bit.”
“Seriously Sémya Slotin, I will never meet anyone else like you.”

I really can't say enough wonderful things about this series, it most definitely keeps you on your toes and always guessing- I love when an author is able to do that. I have fallen in love with so many of these characters, and even though a lot of our questions are answered in this book we are still left with a whole lot more. There are some things alluded to in here that I'm pretty sure I have figured out but am dying to see how it plays out in the next book. And that ending?! WTH dude-I was left a screaming hott-mess! Thankfully we only have to wait about a month before the next and final book in the series comes out and I will be not-so-patiently climbing the walls til I can get my greedy little hands on it. Fab job by an awesome author and I CANNOT WAIT for more.

You were the person I've been waiting for all my life, Sémya Louise Slotin. If you'll have me, I'm yours.”
