I love him, from the instant I set eyes on him when I was just 11 years old I have loved him and nothing will ever change that, he owns me, he owns my heart and he owns my body and no matter how many lies are told, no matter how many people conspire to keep us apart, despite the fame and the distance, we will find a way.

"Georgia Rae, when we made love you used to cry" ... He waits for me to sing my bit. I try to swallow down a sob but I just end up singing through it...
"I said I love you like the stars above, I'll love you till I die"

Carnage is an edgy coming of age love story that breaks all the rules and transcends the decades. Georgia and Sean's story will stay with you long after you read the final word.
An emotional, smoking hot, gut wrenching read.
This is part #1 of a 2 part story but can be read as a stand alone.

****4 ½- What. The fuck. Just happened?! -Stars****
~this review may contain minor spoilers~

Romeo and Juliet, Bonnie and Clyde, Sandy and Danny, even Baby and Jonny, they can't touch us.
They couldn't write our story, what we have, there aren't even words invented yet to describe it.”

I don't know what the hell I'm supposed to do with that?! This book ripped me to shreds and didn't even have the decency to put me back together when it was over. I mean, shit- I am totally at a loss here, I don't know where we could possibly go from here and this is only book one of two. I have to admit, as much as this book completely destroyed me, it was still an amazing story, but I'm honestly on the fence about weather or nor I will proceed on to the next book when the time come.... I just don't know. This book has left me a little unsettled and a whole lot of emotional. This is going to be a pretty short review for such a long book but, this story spans such a long time period and sooo much happens, you really just have to experience it as it comes to fully feel the gut-wrenching pain I'm in right now.

I was eleven years old, but I knew without a shadow of doubt I was staring into the eyes of the boy I was going to love forever.

From the minute eleven year old Georgia Rae Layton meets the eyes of thirteen year old Sean McCarthy for the first time, she just knows she will love that boy for the rest of her life. It takes a few years, but it's obvious to everyone around them that they only have eyes for each other and by the time Georgia (aka G, aka George, aka Gia) is thirteen, they make it official. We get to follow their lives right from the beginning of their relationship, we get to watch their young, innocent love grow and bask in the certainty that they will always be together. And then we get to experience the shift the book takes when the band then eighteen year old Sean (aka Maca) is in with one of Gia's brothers starts to takes off. Nobody could have been prepared for just how much their lives are about to change when 'Carnage' hits the big time.

Darlin', do me a favour here, all you ladies in the crowd tonight have gotta appreciate the fact that I'm a one woman type of bloke and I love my girl; I've loved my girl since the very first day I set eyes on her and back then she was just a girl... but I have had the pleasure these past few years of watching her grow into an absolutely beautiful young woman and as much as I love touring and playing in front of you lot every night, I'm counting down the days til I'm back in England and in her arms.”

We go through the years with these two people who love each other so very much but are constantly facing people and situations that are doing all they can to keep them apart. Drugs, booze, groupies, tabloids, coming together and falling apart, I have never seen two people get put through so friggin much.

will it change anything, will it fix this horrible fucking pain I have in my chest Jim, will it make it possible to hear his name, say his name even, without me wanting to pass out.”
Oh, George, is it still that bad?”
Yep, every second of every day.”

The biggest thing that kept me sane through all the chaos, aside from my love for Sean & Gia, was how much I absolutely fell in love with all of the secondary characters in here too, it was hard not to. From G's best friends Jimmie & Ashley, to her three brothers- Marley, Bailey, & Lennon, and I will even throw Cam in there....grudgingly. they played such huge roles they really kept me grounded. My heart bled for each and every one of them at one point or another and they made me laugh my ass off more than once.

Little sister Georgia, what are we gonna do with you and that temper of yours?”
“We're not gonna do anything with that temper of hers,” Sean says. “Because she makes me so fuckin' horny when she gets all green eyed, I fuckin' love it.”
Lennon and Marley both shake their heads. “You two are a fuckin' nightmare.”
I love you Georgia Rae, show us your tits,” he whispers into the phone.
“Maca, I can hear you, that's my little fuckin' sister, you perv.”

All I ask is that you proceed with caution. It was truly a beautiful story of a love so strong it spans the ages and never waivers, though it does get put to the test time and time again. And that was fine with me, I love a story that puts me through the emotional wringer. An author that can drag all these horrible feelings outta me through the power of her words alone is one to be cherished. But to go through everything this book puts you through and end up with that ending left me broken and very much pissed off. I was completely blindsided and not in a good way. I'm still having a hard time, days wrapping my head around it all and predict a major book hangover in my immediate future. In the end, it was still an incredible story, from an amazing author....even if I do kinda wanna hunt her down and strangle her at the moment. Grab some lots of tissues and hold on tight, it's one helluva ride.

please try and understand, Sean is the one, there is and never will be anyone else, he's been the one since the day I first clapped eyes on him when I was eleven years old and there's nothing, you or anyone else can ever do to change that fact.”

I am a born and raised Essex girl now living on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula, just outside of Melbourne Australia, I moved here with my husband and three sons in 2006.
Carnage is my third book and was written originally and can be read as a stand alone but I have been convinced by bloggers and readers to write a follow up, so it will be with you later this year.
My first book was Saviour, then it's follow up Resolution, which completes the series.

Not only do I love to write but I also love to read and can devour a book overnight if the story grabs me.
I love watching my sons play football and am very partial to a glass of wine, a nicely chilled Marlborough Sav Blanc being my favourite
