When 19-year-old police recruit Kiera Hudson joins training college, her curiosity and desire to solve mysteries soon has her investigating a series of creepy and disturbing crimes.

With the help of her friend and colleague, Tom, Kiera is soon caught up in a dark world of strange and inexplicable mysteries, each with a deadly twist.

Three novella length mysteries in one book, set before 'Kiera Hudson Series One and Two'.

5,  Who Done It Stars!!

Wow-ie baby. It was so fantastic to be back in Kiera's head! I have gotten to know Kiera over the past 15 books which have been written about her and the other fabulous Kiera Hudson 'gang'. When I get to read another book about Kiera, it is always like catching up with an old, close friend or a distant family member. She is a huge part of my life. With this installment, we get to find out what is going on in her life prior to 'Vampire Shift'(the first in the Kiera Hudson series). We also get to meet Tom, who is her partner and close friend in the academy. He has his own spotlight coming up in the highly anticipated novel, 'Flashes', which will be published in June 2014. As a HUGE Tim O'Rouke fan, it was great to finally meet the main character from 'Flashes'. His fans have been waiting a long time for this upcoming book (a year, maybe two now),so to be introduced to Tom's Character was awesome. I love his character immensely.

"The only cloud I knew was the one my own freaking head was stuck in."- Tom

"I was going to end up looking like Ronald-freaking-McDonald if I carried on eating takeout."- Tom

Each prequel is about Kiera and Tom stumbling upon a mystery of sorts. They range from spooky to bizarre. They really shouldn't be taking on any mysteries or cases since they are in training, but they just can't seem to help themselves.Through the stories, Tom and Kiera's bond continues to grow. I feel it is because of their compulsion for taking on these crimes and working so well together. Each story had me on the edge of my seat and dumbfounded once the mysteries were -or were not- solved. Tim has a way of always fooling me! As always, I didn't want the book to end

"Sometimes it is hard to see what it staring you right in the face when you are up close to it, but if you step back, you can see more easily." - Kiera

" I get this feeling inside - deep down inside - that there are lots of secrets I have yet to discover. But will see the answers in time." - Kiera

Who the fuck are you anyway?”
Sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Kiera Hudson.”

I don't know if I've ever mentioned this before but, I am sooo totally in love with Tim O'Rourke! Like -crazy, stalkerish, he's lucky he lives in another country- in love. I can seriously never get enough of this man's stories, if he ever considers taking a break from writing I may have to hunt him down ~Annie Wilkes in 'Misery' Style ;) all jokes aside, this book was just another example of why I'm such a fangirl for Tim O'Rourke. I loved being back inside Kiera's head and getting a peak into who Tom is-after waiting not so patiently for 'Flashes' this past year- it was awesome to finally meet him.

Just stop sticking your nose in where it doesn't belong until you pass out of this place. Despite what you two think, you don't know every goddamn thing in the rule book. You're both still learning. So listen up, and keep your heads down in the books. Stop trying to run before you can walk. Sure, you are both really switched on, but you both still have a lot to learn. Don't ruin what could be promising careers before you even start. Have a long think about what I've just said over the Halloween break. And no more running around like a couple of loose cannons. Keep yourselves out of trouble.”

In the Kiera Hudson Prequels we get to know Kiera as she was before landing in the Ragged Cove. It seems trouble has always found her, even back in training school where Kiera and her friend Tom stumble upon some mysteries they can't seem to turn away from.

See, you just can't help yourself. And that's what I love about you, Kiera Hudson. However much you try and pretend you're not interested, the mention of the word mystery and you're buzzing with excitement.”

This book brings us into the heart of three of those puzzles.
~The Mystery of Morris Cook: a brothers search for his sister...
~The Mystery of Veronica Straw: what you see isn't always what you get...
~The Mystery of Father Rochford: my personal favorite, a spooky rundown church full of surprises...
In each of these stories we get to see Kiera's genius at work -I do love watching that girl in action- as she works through the tangled webs her and Tom find themselves in. It was an interesting look into Kiera's life before it took such a drastic turn. I will admit to growling at my Kindle when Sergeant Phillips made an appearance, and the little surprise at the end left me with a huge smile on my face. Getting to know Tom was an added bonus and a friggin fantastic one at that, the guy cracked me up. I am definitely looking forward to spending more time with him in the future.

The phone was so bloody old that perhaps the message had been trapped in the ether somewhere. Maybe it was floating around in one of those clouds that people spoke about but never truly understood myself. The only cloud I knew was the one my own freaking head was stuck in.

At the end of the day, what we have is another action packed book full of twists and surprises with some amazing characters. I devour Tim's book anytime I get my greedy hands on them-entertaining and mind bending, they keep you on your toes trying to figure out what will happen next (though you never will) and squealing in excitement whenever you trip across what I have come to call 'series connectors'. All of his books in all of his series' have crossover points, series connectors, whether it's characters, towns, creatures or situations, he weaves them together flawlessly. It's pure genius and I get giddy whenever I pick up on a connection. I cannot wait to see where this author takes us next, you can be sure it will be unique and exhilarating.

There must be something I could find to do that didn't involve eating junk food, killing zombies, and... and thinking about the fun I was missing with Kiera. What had I found to fill my life before I'd met Kiera Hudson? Oh yeah, I remember now, I had spent it eating junk food and killing zombies.
