Synopsis

Lacey Dawes is a total pro at the talent agency where she works, and it doesn’t hurt that IMO Worldwide Media represents Dante Falcone. The rock god has starred in her fantasies since she was sixteen—and remains her secret crush to this day. So when Dante picks her to be the interim manager on his Dream It tour, Lacey can’t believe her luck. Handling Dante is sure to be the most exquisite, spine-tingling, nerve-wracking mix of business and pleasure ever.

Although Dante is grateful for the adoring fans who scream for one more of his full-throttle, soul-searing songs, being surrounded by a cadre of corporate types backstage is wearing thin. Then Lacey shows up. Yeah, she’s organized, smart, quick to get him what he wants before he knows he wants it—but Dante senses there’s something else going on with sweet, sexy Lacey. One kiss tells him what that “something” might be . . . and makes him hungry for more.

****4- Where can I get me a Dante?! -Stars****
~an ARC of this book was provided by Netgalley in exchange for my honest review~
~this review contains minor spoilers~

He was a rockstar, and she was just a -girl. A fan. Someone he could chuckle about over beers with his friends, but not someone real. Not someone he cared about beyond the next few days. He'd always remember her fondly, she suspected. But that's all that she'd be. A memory. And she had to accept that.

Seriously, where can I get me a Dante?! This guy was ten shades of hott, hands-down my absolute favorite thing about this book. And while I didn't fall head over heels in love with the story, I did enjoy it. It wasn't quite as 'down-n-dirty' as I usually like my rocker books, not so heavy on the angst and grit, but sweet and full of some smokin hott flirting and foreplay.

She should have been appalled to learn that her teenaged dream idol had become, well, a degenerate. A spoiled, sensual sex god who slept until noon and partied all night, never without a woman or three spilling out of his arms. That kind of guy should have disgusted her...
So she shouldn't bite her lip at the thought of the glistening body of a hypnotically sensual rock star eager and ready for hot, sweaty sex.

Lacey Dawes has been obsessed with Dante Falcone since he landed on the music scene at the ripe old age of fourteen and in a boy-band. Now a full grown man, lead singer of his own rock band, worldwide heart-throb and sex symbol, she's just as obsessed with him as she was when she was sixteen...only now, she's forced to hide it. As a junior agent at IMO Worldwide Media, no one can know about her secret crush on their newest and biggest client. And when Dante himself appoints her his interim manager on the tour, it's a dream come true-the opportunity of a lifetime, and also her worst nightmare.

This isn't about me hooking up, okay? This is my job we're talking about here. If it got out that I slept with a client-that I so much as have a crush on my client-my reputation would be absolutely shredded. For every moment of this fourteen-day tour, I've got to play blue ribbon babysitter to a guy who could make or break my career. I can't afford to screw up. And I can't afford to screw him.”

Dante Falcone is living the dream, the 'Life of a Superstar'. He loves what he does, lives and breathes his music, but he's tired of never having any privacy, constantly being swamped by rabid fans, always on the road, he's just tired. He's feels like he's missing something, though he can't figure out what it is.

No one really seemed to interest him anymore. Instead he had this endless, aching need for-something. Some sense of purpose he'd lost along the way. Some reason why he should keep playing the game.

He's sick of all the suits running around backstage trying to dictate his life, but when he meets Lacey Dawes something about her intrigues him, calls to him, and he can't figure out what it is. There's something hidden in her eyes, a mystery he's desperate to solve. She always seems to be skating the line between professional, proper, business woman and gushing fangirl. He sees the lust shining in her eyes and figures there's one sure way of finding out which side of Lacey is the real deal.

Fear, panic. Heat, hope. Hope, he realized. That's what was in her eyes, lurking behind every conversation. But hope for what? For him to touch her? To kiss her? To wrap his arms around her and sink inside her body, seeing just how ready she was for him?
Well, fine. He was on board for that.

As Lacey struggles under the weight of Dante's seductive charms, and caught up in the chaos surrounding the tour-groupies, cameras everywhere, crazed fans, persistent paps, her barracuda boss lady-she sees a whole new side to Dante, a side that forces her to question who she really is and what has become of her life. But what happens when the tour ends, the fantasy is over, and mixing business with pleasure is no longer an option? Where will she go from there?

She no longer knew what she wanted, or even who she was. Dante's words from the night before were haunting her, though he couldn't know he'd set off a whirlwind of chaos not just in the emotion area of her brain, but in the career sector as well.
She didn't like her job. She didn't like her boss.
She didn't like what Dante had reminded her of, that she'd replaced the music in her life with meetings and memos, and was losing the one thing that had always made everything good. What was she really doing here?

I do have to admit, Lacey kinda got on my nerves a bit. A lot of her inner-lusting, while understandable, just came across as crazed fangirl, she just seemed too much like a glorified groupie-a groupie with a great job, but a groupie none the less. A lot of her reactions to Dante and certain situations left me scratching my head. But it still held my attention, invested in the story, and the secondary characters were an added bonus- I liked them and wanted to get to know them much better which makes me want to follow the series even more. In the end, it was a nice introduction to Jennifer Chance and I look forward to seeing where this series and this author take me next.

She knew it was a part of the act. She knew it couldn't be real. But for one brief shining moment, she let herself believe in it, let her heart break just a little bit harder. The pain would be worth it, in the end. It was always worth it, for a moment like this.

I come by romance honestly, having spent several years writing adult romance and entering romance contests through Romance Writers of America–including finaling twice in the prestigious Golden Heart contest and winning once. But despite these and other contest wins, my first published novel came not in adult romance, but as a writer of YA historical fiction (you can read all about my Elizabethan spy girls stories, the Maids of Honor, here.)
Still, despite my love of Elizabethan spies, I could never quite give up those super Alpha contemporary romance heroes. So, in the summer of 2013, I decided to see if perhaps I might still have a romance or two up my sleeve.
I wrote a tale about a girl whose biggest high-school and college crush–a rock star–suddenly becomes her biggest client, only now she has to be professional and not betray the fact that she’s completely in love with the guy. It was a fun, sexy, romantic fantasy, and I suggested the idea to my agent… who asked what other ideas I had in addition to this story. Shortly after, the Rule Breakers series was born.
To separate these books from my historical work, I adopted the name Jennifer Chance. I am now pursuing my dreams (pretty much round the clock as it turns out) and am THRILLED to be able to have four e-books coming out in 2014 and early 2015, all with Random House LoveSwept’s New Adult romance line.

As to what will happen from here, who knows? But as long as there is a story to be written and an HEA to be had, I’ll be the one over in the corner, tapping away on my keyboard.
