Shannon Taylor thinks she has the picture-perfect-life.
Engaged to marry her college boyfriend and with a best friend who's more like a sister, life is almost perfect. That is until her world is tilted by two of the most important people in her life.
A chance encounter leads Shannon down a path that will force her to confront a past she has meticulously ignored for ten years.
Nicholas Lockhart, renowned bachelor, has a reputation for his cold eyes and icy heart. Meeting a woman who can turn his world upside down is not in the cards; that is until Shannon.
When Shannon's world crashes, she wonders if it's possible to crack Nick's icy heart. A web of lies and twisted truths soon leaves both bare and vulnerable.
Silence no longer offers her protection or safety.
Will remaining silent cost Shannon the real love she's finally found? Or will she stay silent no more?

Nothing can stay buried forever. Secrets always come out, and no matter how much someone tries to forget, there are things in one's past that are too great or too tragic to forget. The only thing you can do or control is yourself. You have to be honest and hope that those you love are there to help you get past the hurt.

Wow, just....WOW!! That was friggin amazing. I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that it was a debut novel for this author. But that ending?! Anyone who knows me knows how much cliffhangers drive me bat-shit crazy and this one was a doozy. I am totally gonna turn all crazy-fangirl-stalker on her facebook page til the next book comes out BUT sooo friggin worth it.
God I've given that fuck-face five damn years of my life. Why the hell would he do this to us?
How could Ally, of all people, do this? We have...had been best friends since the first day of junior high, over fourteen years ago. We both decided to attend the same college so we wouldn't be apart. We have always been inseparable. She's like the sister I never had. Apparently, I'm the only one that felt that way.
Fucking bitch!

Shannon Taylor's life is just about perfect. She's happily engaged with a job she loves and a circle of friends she adores...until the two most important people in her life tear her world apart. Hurt, lost, and pissed off at the world, she wants nothing more than to crawl into a hole and drink herself stupid when fate puts her in the path of Nicholas Lockhart.
My Father.
The person I hate most in the world. If God existed, the motherfucker's life would have ended by now. But that hasn't happened, and I don't see it happening any time soon. I'm the type of guy that prays for his dad to get a brain-fucking hemorrhage that will take him straight to Hell, where he belongs.

Nick has a sister he would happily die for, an angel for a mother and a few close friends, but life has never been simple. Growing up with an abusive father has left him with some serious anger issues. When it comes to women, bachelorhood is the only way to go -there is no way he could ever tie himself to just one woman...or so he thinks, til he first lays eyes on Shannon.
Shannon, we have to stop now, or I'll never be able to stop. I don't have that kind of willpower. I've wanted you for far too fucking long...
...Six months. I've wanted you for six long fucking months. The first time I saw you I knew I had to have you.”

What starts off as a lust fueled attraction quickly turns to obsession as these two come together. Shannon has never felt this way about anyone, not even her fiance', and it's happening so fast it's scaring the hell out of her. Even as she tries to maintain some distance Nick pushes her limits-he wants Shannon like no other and refuses to let her keep him away.
What is it with men in the last few days, thinking women are their property? This woman belongs to no-fucking-body!

With hooded eyes and a sinister grin, he could be a demon and I'd do anything he told me right now. Consequences be damned.

Being with Nick is forcing Shannon to confront events in her past she has kept buried for ten years. When everything comes to a head, her continued silence and avoidance to dealing with them could cost her everything. Will Nick break her silence or walk away?

That lost look turns to heat and lust. His eyes are a darker shade of blue than the normal flames I love so much. They are sinister, but not in a scary way. It's like he has his eyes on a prize and will stop at nothing to posses it. I'm pretty sure that prize is currently me.

From start to finish this book held me in it's grip, I simply could not stop reading. Heartbreak, deception, and terror his behind every corner, but the chemistry between Nick and Shannon was off the charts HOTT. Nick was exactly the kinda of Alpha male I love to drool after. Sexy, tattooed, possessive, and that mouth?! I do love me some dirty talk. But the ending seriously left me screaming. I'm dying to find out what happens next and cannot wait to spend more time with all these fab characters. My one and only complaint was the POV, I REALLY would have liked to spend some more time in Nicks head just to see what the hell he was thinking. We only get his POV in the prologue. Still doesn't change the fact that this book has landed on my Fav's list for the year & I'm looking forward to a whole lot more from this author!!

Your friend is lucky he's gay”
What is that supposed to mean?”
It means, if he wasn't gay and had his hands all over you on the dance floor, his face would have come in contact with my fist. That's what that means.”

About the Author...

I'm Nancy! I was born and raised in Mississippi where I still reside with my hubby and son. I'm an avid reader and love to get lost in a book pretty much daily. And by book....chances are I mean an ebook! ha! I've always wanted to write. For as long as I can remember, stories and characters just pop into my head, out of the freakin blue. Honestly I could kick myself because I didn't really start writing until I sat down and started Silent No More well over a year ago.

When I'm not reading or writing or working my day job at an Academic Medical Center, I (hubby and the kid too) love to ride four wheelers and side by sides. We love trail riding and finding new trails and mud. Gotta have the mud!! I love roller coasters (Steel...not the wood ones).
