"Live, no regrets"

Sloane Locke has led a sheltered life. However, with a history like hers, she can understand why her brothers and her father want so much to protect her. She has gone along with it for twenty long years, but those days are over. For the girl who never makes promises, Sloane has made a pact with herself that things will change on her twenty-first birthday. So when the clock strikes midnight, Sloane strikes out to spread her wings and break a few rules.

In addition to inking skin, Hemi Spencer possesses many talents. Controlling himself has never been one of them. It's never had to be. He's lived a life of indulgence for as long as he can remember. Right up until tragedy struck. Now, he's nothing but controlled. He's a man on a mission, one who will let nothing and no one stand in his way.

Nothing in their lives could've prepared Sloane and Hemi for what they'd find in each other--distraction and obsession, love and possession. But the one thing they can't find is a future. Neither one has been totally honest. And they'll soon learn that the devil is in the details. In the details and in the lies.

How far will two people go to live in the now when the now is all they've got?

There's no time like the present. No one is promised a tomorrow. We have today. Right now. Nothing more.

It's been awhile since I read something new from this author, I almost forgot how much I love her stories....almost. They're always the perfect combination of fab characters, hilarious banter, intense chemistry, hott sex & a crap-ton of angst. Oh and lets not forget the last minute punch in the face-just when you think the worst of the shit has hit the fan, a tornado has torn through your heart and it's time to deal with the fallout, that's when she delivers the fatal blow and twists the knife sticking out of your chest, one last time. This book was no different and I loved every minute of it.

I'm the sheltered girl trying to break free and really live for the first time in her life. I'm striving to put fear and reservation and hesitation aside in favor of seizing the moment.

Sloane Locke has spent the last twenty-one years of her life locked away in the Ivory Tower, so to speak. With three older brothers and a father who are all cops, being over-protected is all she's ever known and she's sick of it.

As of … Seven minutes ago, I'm officially beyond the control of the thick-headed Locke men. And this is my first act of independence.”
More like rebellion.”
Semantics. Either way, I'm getting this damn tattoo and nobody's gonna stop me.”

She has decided that twenty-one years of this is long enough and she's determined
to break free, spread her wings and finally live her life. She wants to experience new things, take risks and live like there's no tomorrow, because you just never know when in will be your last. That is how she crosses paths with Hemi...

There is no question that I'd like to discover every inch of this tight little body. Two or three times. If I were the selfish asshole I used to be, I'd do exactly that, consequences be damned. But I'm not that guy anymore. I'm focused, and that part of me knows it would be a mistake. I don't need any distractions right now. I have one mission, and bedding a girl like this isn't one of them.

Hemi spent his life doing exactly what he wanted, when he wanted, indulgence was his middle name... til tragedy strikes and brings his life to a screeching halt. Now he's all about control and focus. He has no desire to get involved with anyone or anything that could bring the old Hemi back to the surface, til he meets Sloane and all his self-control is put to the test. He recognizes the innocence in her and doesn't want to ruin that by getting involved with her, but he finds it harder to resist the temptation the more time he spends with her.

There's a little gleam in her eye that says she wants me to show her naughty rather than nice. And oh, how I could show her naughty. I could show her naughty like she's never even dreamed before. But a girl like her deserves nice, too. And naughty's all I've got. It's all I'm interested in...
Just know this, Sloane, I can't walk away from you again. You need to be sure this is what you want. And that I'm the person you want it with.”

Passion ignites, obsession ensues and jealousies take root as these two dance around their attraction, one fighting it-one pushing it. But the biggest problems these two face are secrets & lies. Both are keeping secrets from one another, telling little white lies about who they are, and when everything comes out it could very well destroy it all.

I'm an asshole. A selfish asshole who needs to clear his conscience. To save her from one disaster, I hit her in the face with unfair and unwarranted guilt. That's a pretty shitty thing to do. But evidently, I'm a pretty shitty guy.

This book was filled with half-truths & omissions that kept me on the edge of my seat in fear of what would happen next. I LOVED IT!! As tight-gripped as Sloane's family was, there was no denying they loved each other fiercely but her convo's with her best friend Sarah cracked me up.

He's a man. He thinks with his dick. As long as you keep that in mind, you're golden.”
You should put that on a mug.”
I know. I'm like a modern day Confucius.”
If Confucius was full of random wisdom involving penises.”

If all else fails take off your clothes.”
That's good, sound advice. Why didn't I think of that?”
Trust me. It works.”

And Hemi?! Damn that man was HOTT. I certainly never had that kind of experience in a tattoo parlor and I definitely want a sauna installed in my house. Like now.

I don't want promises. Most of the time, promises are just pretty lies. They're words designed to make others feel better. But in the end, they're still just lies. Disappointing lies. So don't worry about making me promises. I'd rather have your truth.”

All the Pretty Poses

He never wanted to be a hero…until she needed him to be.

It took Kennedy Moore years to put her life back together after Reese Spencer shattered it. But she did. Now, years later, strong and independent, she is in pursuit of a single dream—to dance with the Altman American Dance Theater. Unfortunately, Kennedy is learning that a girl from nowhere with no money and no contacts might never be able to reach her goal.

That is, until Reese reappears, offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that Kennedy just can’t refuse. In exchange for working on his yacht for a few short weeks, he’ll get her an audition with the famous dance troupe. All Kennedy has to do is keep her head down, work hard and resist Reese. That sounds easy enough, right?

Reese doesn’t want to make it easy for Kennedy. Seeing her again has started a fire in his blood—an unwelcome one. It took him years to forget about her before, so this time he has a plan. It’s simple: Get Kennedy on his yacht, seduce her, get her out of his system, move on with his life. That sounds easy enough, right?

But the one thing Reese didn’t plan for was Kennedy herself—a girl so strong yet so broken, she makes him want to rescue her, to take care of her. To save her. Even if he has to save her from himself.

New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author, M. Leighton, is a native of Ohio. She relocated to the warmer climates of the South, where she can be near the water all summer and miss the snow all winter. Possessed of an overactive imagination from early in her childhood, Michelle finally found an acceptable outlet for her fantastical visions: literary fiction. Having written over a dozen novels, these days Michelle enjoys letting her mind wander to more romantic settings with sexy Southern guys, much like the one she married and the ones you'll find in her latest books. When her thoughts aren't roaming in that direction, she'll be riding horses, swimming in ponds and experiencing life on a ranch, all without leaving the cozy comfort of her office.

A note from Michelle: I love coffee and chocolate, even more so when they are combined. I'm convinced that one day they could be the basis for world peace. I also love the color red and am seriously considering dying my hair.
